2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours hazy light golden, with a finger thick creamy head. Aroma is surprisingly nice with yeast, banana, grass and notes of grain and orange. No hints of the absent alcohol here. Body is as expected a bit light, with soft carbonation. The flavour has a bit of the acrid metallic taste to it often present in non-alcoholic beer, but still there’s a nice touch of yeast and grain making this very drinkable. Definitely one of the best non-alcoholic alternatives out there!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.5l bottle. This is a cloudy deep golden-orange beer with a nice big and lasting light fluffy just off-white top. On the nose it’s what you can expect from a alcofrei weiz, just a little better. It has a nice subtle, I almost want to call it a caramel-fruity sweetness in between the wheat, sawdust, banana chewing gum and I have to say it’s quite nice on the aroma. It has a average+ carbonation level and a soft thin mouthfeel. The flavors are also light and somewhat watery. Wheat and some slightly fresh citrus floral flavors with a lightly burned sawdust thing in the aftertaste. It’s quite easy to drink, and as a non-alco alternative I can safely say that it kills the thirst. Think I enjoyed the other non-alco type a bit more, but it’s not bad in any way. 12.01.2013

Poured with a massive head, this low alc beer is actually quite drinkable. Nose a big on the cornflake side. I would never buy it again as I don’t see the point, but it is good to know that it is drinkable. Basically this is just the hefe turned down a few notches which causes a drop in the flavour and intensity.

Orange-braun, feinporiger Schaum ohne Ende, 1A-Optik! Hefiges Aroma, leicht bananig dazu, ok. Dünner Geschmack, aber wiederum hefig-bananig. Das Weihenstephaner hat klar mehr zu bieten als Erdinger Alkoholfrei und Konsorten!

50 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 04.01.2010
Aroma is quite light with banana esthers, some cardboard and hay. Flavour has banana esthers, hay, some yeasty notes and hints of cardboard. One of the best ( = least worst) alcoholfree hefes out there.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Orange cloudy body with a huge, everlasting, creamy, white head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass. The aroma has some nice notes of banana, spices, yeast, citrus and perfume, but there are also some of the dreaded non-alchol wort notes too far in front in the mix. The taste is light sweet and with a light acidity that lasts into the aftertaste, hardly any bitterness. Surprisingly strong flavours with spices, banana, yeast and acidic lemon, and with wort further in the back. Too light and watery mouthfeel to be really pleasant, but all in all an unusually nice alkoholfrei.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange body with a big cloudy, "proper-hefeweizen" head retention. Nose is sweet banana tones, grains, strong clove and hints of citric peel and pepper. Though a bit more faint than the usual weizen, this sure smells like the real thing. Taste is light malt and wheat tones which come out in a cereal-like sweet way, with hints of citrus and bread crumbs. Surprisingly full (medium) body and a slightly fizzy carbonation, which adds to the freshness in a very successful way. Despite a bit thinner taste-wise, this really is a great non-alcoholic beverage - very close to a real hefeweizen and weighing in at an impressive 0,5 % ABV. One of the really good ones in the genre. *applause* :-)

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle shared with McTapps. It took my wife ages to drink that one as it was so boring. I was thirsty and threw that one down in a minute or two. Therefore it is still drinkable but very dull and boring. Could be a juice whith a bit of malt in it. Yeast ? Surprisingly on in nose but not in taste. Comes with 0,5 % and is very, very boring.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Milky orange colour with steady head. Nose of light yeast. Slight taste of yeast, bananas and dough. Very thin, watery and unsatisfying beer.
