Supple, malty and mellow. Its harmonious flavour is the great strength of our dark wheat beer.

Hazy amber in colour with a hint of bronze. The nose is wheaty and yeasty with just a kick of grain. The taste is light and somewhat citrusy with an overlay of wheat and copper. Pretty darn good and feels quite light in the mouth. if I only liked wheatbeers better.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2010 Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate banana, light bubblegum, toffee, and just a hint of roast. It pours a cloudy brownish-orange with an inch tall off-white head that fades relatively quickly until a thin cap of foam that leaves behind some nice webbing for lacing. The flavor starts with a quick dose citrus tanginess. The finish has notes of banana, caramel, and light roastiness. Medium bodied with lively, but mostly soft carbonation. Certainly not as good as the regular, but it is a nice dunkelweizen.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2007 Pours from the bottle with a large, creamy head. Light brown color with orange highlights. Smells of banana peels, oranges and grass. The flavor is refreshing with bubblegum and banana. Overall, this is fairly sweet, even for the style. A decent brew with some peach notes and a little bit of clove in the finish.

Murky reddish golden appearance is only slightly darker than the regular Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. The head is appropriately tall and foamy, and carbonation level is high as is should be. This beer is much less aromatic than its paler brother, with a lot more wheat bread on the nose than cloves or bananas. The taste is also quite malty, with only a mild level of sweet fruitiness, but a bit of a spicy bite and lemony tanginess. The mouthfeel is light and feels a bit watered down. A good Hefeweizen for the people who prefer their iced tea unsweet rather than sweet.

Very good, same qualities as the regular Hefe, but more intense spices and aftertaste-wheat, caramel, chocolate, banana, yummm.

Medium brown color, and, naturally, cloudy. Aroma is light, but is clove spice as expected with medium-full mouthfeel. Pours a full weiss head and retains it well. A heavy lace rolls slowly down your glass as you empty it.

Murky dark amber colour with good foamy head. Aroma is sweet, malty and with some spices. Flavor is sweet with some banana and toffee. Palate is very nice.

Sweet, fruity, yeasty aroma, like caramel-drenched banana with a mildly bready, chocolatey maltiness in the background. Dark amber color, largely opaque, with a fine, creamy and lasting head. Flavor profile is malty and and lightly bitter to start, becoming toffeeish and with a spicy, estery finish, featuring some lingering hop flavors, banana and clove. Lightly acidic and effervescent on the palate, body is light-medium. Respectable.

Hazy, light mahogoney color. Moderate carbonation. Big frothy head, moderately diminishing. Sweet yeasty aroma. Clovey. Somewhat vinous. Decent.

Cloudy reddish brown with a massive frothy light brown head. Aroma of wheat, banana, caramel, clove, and dough. Medium watery body with lively carbonation. Refreshing. Slightly earthy flavor of banana, clove, wheat, plum, caramel, with hints of straw and roast. The flavor becomes weaker as I finish the bottle - more so than usual, but it is still enjoyable. Very good.
