Sweet malty fruity wheat aroma and that even more so on tasting. Probably the best wheat beer I’ve ever tasted

Poured into supplied glass from one pint bottle, simply beautiful. Cloudy pumpkin with thick head and excellent lacing. Typical wheat aroma, with same taste but decent malty flavor.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Market Basket
Pours a fairly clear reddish brown with a huge fluffy tan head that persists forever. Aromas of clove with hints of banana and peeper with a solid shot of caramelized brown sugary malt. The flavor is rich dark sugary malt sweetness with some clove and pepper to counter. Little to no hop presence. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. Dangerously drinkable, not horribly complex but definitely a solid quaffer.

O- Much lighter than I anticipated, the bubblegum flavor comes through quite prominently which I wasn’t expecting for a Dunkel.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, a Christmas gift from my mother. Pours a medium depth brown with a monster of a beige head. Lots of fluffy stuff and tons of lacing. This must be what a beer of sustenance is supposed to be... supple is a good descriptor. A good amount of roast, spent grain, bready, and yeast. Too much yeast presence for my liking. Plenty of good flavors come together, so it’s pretty easy to get past that. Overall a pleasant brew.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Just an incredible dunkelweizen. It’s attractive (well, as attractive as a dark wheat beer can be), heady, and outrageously easy to drink. Seriously. A stein full of this stuff will be empty in no time. As expected with the dark color, there’s a bit more earthiness and graininess, but the sweet bubblegum flavor typical of Bavarian wheat beers comes through beautifully. Another excellent offering from the "World’s oldest brewery."
