Medium head that mostly fades but a small covering remains throuhout the session. Sweet malty aroma with strong lemon zest. Airy light palate that refeshed the tognue. Robust malty flavor fuller than the Hefewiezen but otherwise contains the same citrus feel. A more pronounced hop flavor that makes this a great balanced beer. A thousand years of brewing and they are still going strong. faroeviking (6128), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2007 Bottle. Pours a nice dark brown colour with a huge long lasting solid creamy beige head. Aroma od wheat, yeast, banana and malt. the flavour is fresh with a good mild roastiness, wheat, good fruitiness with especially banana and citrus, yeast and some spices. Great brew! artvandelay (32), Ames, Iowa, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 14, 2007 Bottle. Pours not too cloudy (lots of sediment stuck to the bottom of the bottle) Munich brown. Continuous carbonation feeds pillowy beige head and good lacing. Nose is banana, cloves, and a little sour. Taste is balance with malt and hops. Light to medium body, finishes somewhat sour. Nothing too special, but nothing I don’t like. raymondwave (882), Finland
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 14, 2007 Kinda uggly tint of brown, smallish beige head. Fruity nose, with a little banana. Surprisingly bitterish and sour, a little burnt with dark chocolate. Crispy carb. A bit on the bitter side rather than sweet. Good. detroitsteel (233), Greater London, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 14, 2007 Berlin Trip beer No.7. Now we’re getting somewhere! After some average schwartz beers and a bland Kolsch this is more like it. On draft at the Weihenstephan cafe, Hackescher Markt, Berlin. Served in the lovely tapering glass. A translucent chocolatey brown with a large creamy head. Smooth orange peel, lemon zest flavours give way to hints of spice and malt. A long zingy finish. A grand beer. radagast83 (1317), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Bottle. Dark brownish color. Head had a nice aroma of banana with wheat and some hops for good measure. Not too much sweetness with the malt, which is good. Russo (635), Campinas, Brazil

Cerveja marrom com uma boa espuma, aroma de banana e com sabor amargo frutado, diferente das demais dunkels... Maria (6345), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Dark brown, murky with a nice head. The aroma is nice with strong notes of banana. The flavour doesn’t disappoint me, the strong notes of banana, a spicy sweetness and the wheat makes this beer a nicely balanced experience. I liked this one a lot, even if I normally prefer the light versions of a weiss.
