Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, röstmalzig, Karamell, dunkle Früchte. Geschmack hefig, würzig malzig, dunkle Früchte.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 Pours a dark brown with a white head. Smells of fruits and a touch of chocolate and toffee. Medium heavy mouthfeel. Taste is perfect balance between the hefe bananas/cloves and the chocolate malts. One of my favorites.

Bomber poured into Weizen glass. Appears dark gold/amber with off white, pillowy, 2 finger head. Not much smell, just bubblegum. The taste was a simple bubblegum front with a banana back. The palate is medium and it feels smooth. This beer is not bad, just ok.

Cloudy reddish-brown little bit of orange with bright white head. Color fades from top to bottom, dark to light. Aroma of banana, malt, wheat, yeast and clove. Taste is more subtle but same.

Dialing up the dark malts on this one results in a fairly good alternative to the base hefe - but I still like that one better

50 cl. flaske. 5,3%. En mørk weiz øl. Lidt tynd sjappet smag efter min mening.

On the pour, a clear deep amber colour, impressive head, creamy in consistency, lace in fine sheets to coat the glass. Malt nose, clean, fresh, crisp, the front semi-sweet, top skimpy, the finish has a pleasing carbonation, daintily hopped, doughy aftertaste. The whole Weihenstephaner line of beers are quite drinkable, and well worth the time and effort to sample.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour is much more of a copper colour with a nice head. Aroma is fairly strong, weizen spice with more caramel as well. Good balance with the malty biscuit and caramel and the more normal weizen notes like banana. Nice beer, but not quite as quaffable as the hefeweizen.

Cloudy with a dark honey like colour and loads of carbonation. Banana and cloves and estery goodness ’en masse’ but there is a hint of roast/maple like quality. On the palate it is creamy with estery goodness and a bit of syrop like flavour from the yeast and a finish that is lighter and sweet. Very good sipper.
