Pours a brons amber beer with a good white head. Smells pretty sweet. Some kind of fruit. Taste is also pretty sweet but not overpowering other flavours. I tast a bit coffee. A bit stoutish. I like the texture. Bit oily. Good carbo.

For a doppelbock this is a very good beer. Sweet, but not cloying. Honey and brown sugar. Excellent mouthfeel.

from bottle. pours a clear dark brown colour with a huge frothy tanned head. wonderful and complex aroma of roasted malts, caramel, brittle, brown sugar, hints of coffee and a touch of dark fruits. rather low carbonation, medium body and kind of oily mouthfeel. flavours of roasted malts, caramel and coffee with a high sweetness. maybe it is just a little bit to sweet, but that does not diminish the overall great impression. fantastic doppelbock!

Mild malty nose. Pale beige fast disappearing head. Clear red color. Malty and roasty caramel taste. Some hints of berries too. Bitterness at the end.

16.9oz bottle at Biergarten Haus in DC. Pours a hazy, garnet amber with some thin, lacing, creamy , slightly off white head. Nose was a nice balance of fruit and malt, dried fruits, raisins, prunes, caramel, a little booze, some tropical fruit, wet bread, nougat, some light cocoa powder. Flavor is very similar, some brandy, bread, nougat, light chocolate, wet cracker, lots of prune, mixed fruit juice. Full, sticky finish. I really enjoyed this.
