A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

500ml bottle. Have only recently tried beer from this brewery and am glad I have. This has to rank right up there with Celebrator. Only I detected a hint of cocoa, which was nice. This is a fine doppelbock which I’ll be buying again.

Bottle - Clear brown colour, medium tan head, good retention and lacing. Nice sweetish aromas of caramel, milk chocolate, dried fruits, dates and some honey. Taste is sweet caramel with dried plum and brown sugar, breadcrust, some cocoa notes, no hop bitterness. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, smooth texture, sweet finish. Great doppelbock.

Bottle poured into a 19oz. pilsner glass. Great dark fruit and sugary malt aroma, good looking dopplebock brown. Produced a good but rapidly disappearing head. This is a smooth, robust, well balanced and easy drinking dopplebock. Lightly carbonated and a bit on the sweet side. Chocolaty, full bodied and creamy, it almost tastes like there is no alcohol at all included. Very good example of the style.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2016 Bottle 500ml. Served at cellar temperature. Pours a deep dark ruby with a tanned, dense, frothy had that was mostly lasting. Aroma is of dusty milk chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, oats, wholemeal bread, blueberries with light earthy/spice notes in the background. Flavour is sweet and amazingly smooth with an extremely light bitterness, chocolate malt balls (Whoppers), chewy caramel, roasted barley, fruit and nut toast, dried currants and a touch of allspice. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a chewy texture and a long, progressive finish. Alcohol content is deceptively well hidden!

Small frothy light brown head. Fair lacing. Mostly diminishing. Murky reddish-brown thick body Aroma: moderate malt, alcohol, caramel, port ruby. Initial flavor: moderate sweet. Final flavor: heavy sweet (malt, caramel, nutty); long duration. Palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, very light astringent finish. Lacks balance. Little coffee in the background. 40s usd 4.5

Aroma: Strong bread with caramel notes, also a lot of dried plum and raisins, could be more intensive, light hoppy metal. Appearance: Very dark brown with ruby reflections, head is high, dense. Taste: Sweet, dense, raisins, plum, caramel, grapes, toast, bread, very very light alcohol - cognac like. Palate: Finish is sweet, carbonation is low, body is high.

Bottle as a gift from Helsinki. BB 21.12.16. Pours ruby brown with a thick light beige head. The aroma is malty sweet, nutty and caramelly, dried fruits and a bit of roast. Tastes sweet, even surprisingly so, I get notes of dark dried fruits, somewhat caramelised sugar, and at points, the hinting presence of alcohol. Roasty and perhaps even chocolaty. Not too deep or multilayered though. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel, carbonisation modest. Kind of thin. Overall a very well done beer, and enjoyable while tucked in a warm blanket with -15*C outside.
