COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Sweet smell. Nice, deep red/brown color. Malty flavor with some plum, raisin, prune taste to it. Very easy to drink. Tasty Doppelbock.

Draft. Aroma is all malt - toffee, dark dried fruit, and hints of coffee. Dark red-brown in color, OK head. Flavor matches the aroma, on the sweet side. Full-bodied and smooth. Very good.

Oddly refreshing for a doppelback. Tastes classically German, malty and roasty. One of the better doppels that I have tried.

Starts lightly and finishes strong. a lot of the flavor is on the back end. ginger, chocolate, and roasted malt are the primary elements. definately a good one to enjoy on a cold night by the fire.

Huge lasting head, glossy molasses-colored body. Very sweet malty-earthy nose, rasins & caramel & ginger & chocolate. Bit too simple in the flavor department, but I love a very sweet, full-bodies doppel with lots of chocolate at the end and a big finish. Lovely, great for a Wisconsin winter.

Dark reddish brown body with a tan head that disappeared too quickly. Could not distinguish the aroma except to say that it was sweet. Full to the mouth with some caramel notes. A delicious beer.

A malty aroma wafts from my glass. This beer is a deep dark amber color, it shows fairly clear when held up to the light. This beer is just wonderfully malty. Lots of caramelized malt taste, as well as a bit of chocolate. There is a certain fruitiness here that is more from the malt presence than any yeast character. This is a nice clean lager that really lets the malt character shine through.

Keg, Amsterdam BBF2003. Ruby red, good creamy beige head and moderate condition. Good bocky melanoidin and roast barley notes in the nose, smooth mouthfilling toffee and cream in the mouth and a sweet finish with a delicate prickle of hop bitterness. At a festival that celebrates just one basic beer type, it becomes difficult to find favour or fault with any one beer. Imagine twenty Dutchmen playing the same tune on a variety of trumpets, some play the tune as written, some with a flourish or two. Then up stands a German, produces a tuba and plays the same tune in an Umpah stylee and everyone takes notice. A big brash tuba of a beer in a sea of trumpets.

Pours a reddish cola color, settles a bit darker with a nice clear gem-like glow, thin tannish head breifly makes an effort to stay but fizzes quickly down to a thin hazy skim and ring, lace in minimal spots. Aroma is a bit faint of toasty sweet malts and dark fruits lending some plum, raisin, dates, and dried apricot. Taste is a bit more filling, starts a little weak and thin but begins to gain malty weight with a nice toffeeish sweetness and finishes strongly with a nice mixing of dark fruits of plum, raisin, dates, and figs giving way to a little chewy caramel lingering finish which is super smooth and creamy. Nice finish on this. Theres a bit of a metallic twinge in the midway parts but is barely noticeable and appears mostly at the front of the tongue and the lips. Feel is close to medium with a light silken creamyness that floats through the palate with ease and the finish is quite nice with a light building of chewy sweetness. A soild dopplebock by any standards, good stuff.

Aroma has chocolate bannana and toffee. The flavor has much the same with a smokey hint. The mouth-fell is a little light. The beer is very smooth. A great doppelbock.
