4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, Doug’s, Christmas 2004 in Toronto. So this was the bottle Radek dropped?? Very strong malty and brandy aroma; dark brown colour. Not much alcohol in the taste, just lots of malty doppelbock goodness. Full bodied and really enjoyable. Thanks to whoever brought this one. Why couldn’t you drop the Keith’s Light instead?

Sweet malts, dry fruits. Nice strong lager character, woody and sweet just the way it should be. Medium roast, sweet, drinkable bock. Good beer.

Porter like , chocolate, and cherries and berries, raisins and currents. Hops. Smoothness from malts yet sour finish. Bit high on the alcohol . Thanks whoever brought this to Doug Shoemaker’s party(33).

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Dark brown body with a decent beige head. Fruity, raisiny notes over a sweet malty aroma. Flavour is sweetly malty with just a touch of balancing bitterness that lingers a bit. Nice medium palate, could be more full bodied for my liking. Nice beer. Thanks Kimchee. Toronto Christmas Party 2004. Radek pulled a jgb9348 and dropped the bottle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Yup, this is definitely a dopplebock. Pours dark brown with burnt sienna highlights and a large tan head that diminished mostly leaving fleeting lacing. Aroma of rich malts and dark, dried fruits, molasses, a bit of earth and rum pudding. Flavor is sweet like raisin juice with notes of coffee, molasses and alfalfa and floral hops a bit cloying in time. Full, thick body with very little carbonation. Nice beer overall.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very nice doppelbock. Big on malts, with some distinct caramel, chocolate, and nutty flavors abound. There is an alcohol presence in the brew but it doesn’t overpower. Rich yet still drinkable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark clouded reddish amber hue, moderate head formation. Malty, bready aroma, caramel and mild dark fruits. Sweetfruity, bready malt flavor, fairly port like. Burnt treacle finish, stays sweet but not cloying and balances out fairly well.
