COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Bottled: pours a dark beechnut with a full taupe head that diminishes quickly. Full malty aroma with plenty of hazelnuts, milk chocolate and banana. Fairly thick mouth feel that is clean and full of flavour. Luscious chocolate, a hint of campfire smoke, wood and a plethora of nuts. A hint of cascade hops evident in the finish, though not much. Overall a beer I would drink very often.

Nice dark color with a fine head. Good malt and carmel in the nose. Full body. thick and chewy. Good dark beer.

Decent dopplebock. I think this brew is suffering from comparison as I sampled Celebrator Dopplebock yesterday. On its merits though Korbinian smells of malty molasses. A bit one dimensional compared to others. Flavor is good, just doesn't have the complexity I was looking for in a dopple.

Bottle. Dark mahogany color with a foamy light brown head. The aroma is malty with some caramel and molasses. Mostly a full maltly body with a little nut and toast.

Frothy beige head that diminishes quickly. I am bad with color, but this one is cola dark.Aroma of caramel and roastiness. Flavor of caramel and malt and finishes sweet with slight bitterness. Overall a very malty sweet and drinkable beer that hides the alcohol very well. I may need more lessons in the ways of dopplebock.

Beautiful frothy, dirty white head. Malts are everywhere, aroma, taste, down to a full bodied palate. Not too sweet, a light mouthfeel. Outstanding.

Nice amber, brown color mild head that little staying power,Malty sweet aroma with a slight fruity side to it.The taste was all most more then i could handle, malty sweet with hints of caramel and mild fruit tones very smooth and a malty after taste that was fantastic. There was nothing in this brew to dislike and everything to like,i wish i had more then the one beer but i know where to get more and thats the main thing. The alcohol in this brew appears to be well hidden you don't really detect it much but you feel it after half the bottle is gone.Just a fine Dopple all around.

matta (1140) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUN 10, 2003
This was an interesting beer. Not what I was expecting, because it was a little light bodied for a duppelbock. This beer is a dark amber color; it pours a nice head that vanishes quickly. The aroma and taste if this Korbinian, is a malted caramel. If you see it at your store pick one up and give it a try.

Sweet malty, molasses like aroma with a hint of nuttiness. Little to no head on top of a beautiful nut brown body. Excellent malty flavor - just the right amount of sweetness. Alcohol is hidden extremely well - appears just a bit in the aftertaste though. Overall, an excellent dopplebock - hard to find - even where other Weihenstephaners are sold.

on draught at the Anthill pub, early 2003. This is a very nice doppelbock. Dark brown body w/ a tan head. Nice malty taste, smooth & sweet
