3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
0,5 l bottle from bier-deluxe, best before 28/10/2015. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, very slowly diminishing, tan head. Intense aroma of raisins, prunes, molasses and slight hints of chocolate. Sweetish taste of raisins, prunes and molasses, followed by even more sweetness towards the finish. Medium long, chocolatey, minimally bitter finish with a pleasant, gentle alcoholic and warming note. Full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice sipper, but not as special as expected. Still very tasty and pleasant on the palate, but not overly complex.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brown/ dark red color pour. Off white head rose and retreated to a ring and left behind spotty lacing. Aroma was of molasses, honey, malts, and roast. Taste was of molasses, burnt sugar, roast, and a caramel sweetness. Mild carbonation with a somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Overall, a very good beer, but, the dopplebock style never really works for me.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours deep amber-black from bottle with generous tan head. Malty aroma with hints of chocolate, plums, roasted barley. Tastes sweet, syrupy, toasty with notes of anise; finishes with strong bitterness that brings you back for the next sip. Full bodied, particularly for a lager with light carbonation. A nearly perfect production lager IMHO. Not for mass consumption but great with meals. Beer doesn’t get much better than this.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A good brew and only 2.99. Aroma is dried fruits, plums, heavy malts, dark bread. Flavor is thick with plums, raisins, bread, caramel. Dark brown color. Not much to say except it’s very nicely done, well priced and is sure to be a crowd pleaser of a beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle, one year old.
Dark brown body, with some red reflections and a medium, creamy, light beige head.
Rich aroma of dried fruits, almond, dark berries, bread, some cherry, slight alcohol.
Taste with about the same aromas, although very malty, fortunately not too sweet, but also not as rich as the nose.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes fruity, roasty, bready.
Nice one. Not very complex, but really well balanced, not too sweet. Overall not among my faviourite Doppelbock beers, but still a great example of the style.
