Bottle pours deep brown, decent carbonation. Figgy malty aroma yields a similar flavor profile. Sweet but not cloying, earthy malty finish. Good hearty dopplebock, but not too heavy as some are.

500 mml bottle tasted on 23/04/2104. Dark brown ruby colour. Aroma is strong and sweet with caramel and sugar notes. Nice head and almost perfect carbonation. Roasted malt and brown sugar on the taste. Pretty taste with some caramel aftertaste. Nice Doppelbock for a nice price. Next one please!

500ml bottle. Dark ruby body, medium mocha head with good retention. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel, plums, a little woodsy, licorice and figs. Taste of sweet caramel malt, some berries, floral hops, well done toast, candy sugar. Light and refreshing for the abv.

Review according to BJCP2008 guidelines (style 5C). AROMA: strong sweet malt aroma. very slight plum aroma and moderate alcohol aroma. No hop aroma. APPEARANCE: clear dark brown with ruby tint. persistent medium head of beige color. head retention reduced maybe because of high alcohol content. TASTE: rich malt flavour with slight notes of dried grapes. smooth impression from alcohol and no hop flavours. very low bitterness with malt dominating the flavour. PALATE: medium body with moderate carbonation. smooth without astringency. OVERALL: a very nice doppelbock with a médium smooth body.

Pours dark ruby with thick white lingering head. Aroma: coffee, chocolate, cinnamon and a bit of booze. Taste: chocolate, cinnamon and coffee are prominent. Finish is not too boozy given the 7.4% abv. Overall, good, but not great.

Shared a 50cl bottle from Ruppert (Luxembourg). Pours a deep brown colour with a thin, persistent tan head. Aroma has roasted, chocolate, molasse and raisin notes. Some alcohol on the nose. Average to soft carbonation and medium to full oily body. Taste is a well balanced voyage between bitter, sweet and a roasted very dry finish. Overall, a meal with a few dimensions. Great beer!

Poured into a stein from a bottle. Pours a deep brown with an off white head. Small lacing as you drink. Tastes of roasted malt, caramel and a slight hint of cherry. Nice bite at the end, you will notice the stronger alcohol content after a few sips. Overall, I was slightly underwhelmed by this beer based on the previous reviews. Still enjoyable to drink, but nothing really stood out about it.
