A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Ruddy brown pour with a dark red hue around the edges of the glass. Thick head that is very similiar in appearance to a latte or cappucino. Awesome aroma of candied pecans like the ones my mom makes around Christmas. Medium body and an unfortunately thin watery palate. Flavor is like an overly malty nut borwn ale with a bitter and smoky finish that lasts for a while. If this were fuller bodied it would be hard to beat.

Aroma has a sweetness - hint of plum. Pours chocolate brown with a cream head. Teriffic lacing. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, slight chocolate. Creamy texture. This sets the bar for what I expect a dopplebock to be.

Great dopplebock. Sweet and malty without being too sweet. Really, really well balanced. Initial aroma is strongly banana as a wheat beer should. Two fingers of foam, which then suppresses the aroma. Plenty of flavours and mostly caramel but a variety of other tastes are present. Hard to find in Brisbane, but worth the hunt on a cold winter’s night. Perfect with any toffee flavoured desert like sticky date pudding.

Draught @ Waterfront Ale House. Dark brown with small creamy beige head, caramel aroma, sweetish mocha taste, balanced full body, longish mocha finish. Very suave and sophisticated brew.

Bottle from Taniguchi served in a dimpled mug. It pours a deep reddish brown with a malty sweet aroma giving me plum notes. Medium bodied with a great mild malt character that gives a bitter nutty caramel flavor. A satisfyingly smooth brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One pint, 0.9 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear, brown, nice abundant tan head, and nice lacing all over the glass. Aroma of bread, malts and some dark fruit. Taste is malty, lots of caramel notes, plum and some grassy notes. A lot more crispier than I expected. Very drinkable, very enjoyable, very good.

Bottle 50cl. Clear deep amber brown, good frothy beige head, diminishes slowly, fair lacing; sweet malt aroma, dried dark fruits, roasted, brown sugar, licorice; smooth taste, light heavy sweey, slighly bitter, dried fruit, toffee, spicy notes; full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste bittersweet, roasted, bit woody, light spices, light chocolate notes, bit alcohol; an excellent full-bodied and smooth Doppelbock.

Bonito color caramelo oscuro con un dedo de espuma efervescente. Aroma a caramelo, café y ciruela. En boca, tono seco y amargo a café predominante, más el resto de matices del aroma. Buen cuerpo y efervescencia alta. Equilibrada y notable.

Bottle from VP Bestillingsutvalg enjoyed at home
Dark brown, big tanned head. Smell of dark malts, dark fruits, prunes, chocolate and caramel. Medium sweet, dark fruits, prunes, chcoclate, hints of toast and caramel, nicy malty flavors, Moderate bitter finish. Nice balanced off, not too sweet. Excellent doppelbock

Deep black Amber color, a lot like a cola. Sweet malty aroma with maybe a little fruit. The taste comes on strong like a doppelbock should, but doesn't hang around to singe the tastebuds. It can't be overstated how smooth and palatable this beer is. One bottle in and this is already one of my favorites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
