ChazMania (285), Pasadena, California, USA Apr 22, 2008 Bottled. Dark and figgy brown sugar smell. Small lacing and tiny head. It is smooth at out of refrig temps but gets really sugary as it warms up. The reviewer below says its not as sweet on the tongue....I think differently, this is very sweet. Maybe that is the age of the bottles?
Pershing (42), Garland, Texas, USA Aug 20, 2008 Dark brown with a malty aroma. Full bodied and moderalty sweet with a nice lingering finish left me wanting more. One of the best Dopplebocks I’ve had in a while. I realized this was a great beer when half was gone in just a few moments. dmac (833), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Aug 18, 2008 16 oz bottle purchased at Spirits RB. Mostly sweet aroma with notes of raisin, dark fruit, slightly sugary and a touch of smoke in the background. The sweetnes translates into the flavor nicely with lots of dark fruit showing up from the malts, molassess and some black liquorice. Very solid beer that was a pleasant suprise. charlotte (1165), Vanløse, Denmark Aug 14, 2008 Dark brownish colour with medium.Aroma is nutty and heavy malty.Rosted mouthfeels and sweet after taste nice type of brew. pumpmaster (265), Florida, USA Aug 11, 2008 16 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke pines, FL for $2.49 Very good FatguyRacer (83), Crownsville, Maryland, USA Aug 10, 2008 16oz bottle. I found this in a small bottle shop in Milford, DE. The heavy malt aroma was overwhelming, but enticing. It was thick, chewy and very sweet on the palate. This reminded me of a malt liqour more than a beer. A good brew.
