Pours a dark brown with a bubbly tan head. Very malty and caramel sweet aroma with a little fruit. Roasted malt and coffee flavor, almost finishes like an alcoholic fruit cake. Very smooth and enjoyable, alcohol is well hidden but does slowly become evident.

Aug 18, 2008 16 oz bottle purchased at Spirits RB. Mostly sweet aroma with notes of raisin, dark fruit, slightly sugary and a touch of smoke in the background. The sweetnes translates into the flavor nicely with lots of dark fruit showing up from the malts, molassess and some black liquorice. Very solid beer that was a pleasant suprise.

Aug 10, 2008 16oz bottle. I found this in a small bottle shop in Milford, DE. The heavy malt aroma was overwhelming, but enticing. It was thick, chewy and very sweet on the palate. This reminded me of a malt liqour more than a beer. A good brew.

Aug 8, 2008 Bottle & on tap @ in de Wildeman. Dark reddish brown colour, big off-white head. Aroma of caramel, laurel, liquorice, cloves, roasted malts. Taste is sweet, malty, brown sugar, laurel, liquorice and cloves, roasted malts, dark fruits. Very complex. Nice slightly bitter finish. Smooth palate. Geat tasting beer.
