A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Very mellow, a well rounded beer that tastes a little like au jus (but i mean that in a positive way - sweet and savory)-which could be why it goes so well with steak and roast beef. A great picnic beer, but if you wanna buy a 6?er good luck finding one in America and if you do its probably gonna cost you a pretty penny. Its a beer you have with special meaty meal and that?s about it. Doesn’t impress as much on its own.

Very good bock. A bit too sweet for my taste but still delicious. Nice deep brown with just enough carbonation. Flavor is complex: malt sweetness, overripe fruit, chocolate, burned malt. Sticky toffee and sirrupy in a good way. Powerful.

500ml bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Dark brown, quite full body. Aroma is sweet malt with a little chocolate. The taste adds caramel, smoke and even a hint of licorice. Palate is a lovely combination of cream and stickiness. Excellent Doppelbock, have to try it again soon!

500ml This Kraut brew lifts , full on dark malt complexity . Soy sauce covered chocolate ,earthy hops, treacly roasted malt, woody dryness . This beer squeezes the palate and then kisses it. Fucken good !

A 500ml bottle with a best before date of 3rd October 2015 and poured into a Riedel weizen glass. It poured a clear very dark brown colour with hints of ruby and a one finger chestnut coloured head that dissipated quite quickly with only light spotty lacing. Aromas are malty, treacle, brown sugar, milk chocolate and hints of vanilla. Taste was similar to the aromas, there’s malt, burnt sugar, brown sugar, caramel, chocolate and a hint of dark fruit like prune. Creamy, velvety, mid to full bodied with low carbonation. Overall a very nice doppelbock from a great brewer. Just falls behind Celebrator in my book, but definitely something I’d drink again.

Pours slightly reddish dark brown with a big, dense white head. The aroma features malty, a bit toasty elements: bread, bisquit, nuts. Taste is a bit sweeter than the aroma suggested; it adds caramel and dark fruitiness to malty features such as bread and rye pudding. Maltiness lasts well until the drying finish. No traces of hops appear. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth with low to average carbonation. Solid, sweetish doppelbock.

Molasses, wood and dark sugar aromas. Crystal clear medium dark brown body that breaks into deep ruby and orange colors under strong light. Full molasses taste hits on the sip but it’s light, not heavy. Vanilla, cream, dark chocolate and charred wood all come next along with a very slight vegetal taste and bitterness which is a good balance to the sweetness. Finishes lightly sweet with chocolate and woody flavors. Perfect balance in flavors and texture, an excellent Dopplebock.

On tap at the braustuberl. Deep dark red/brown mahogany color, clear, short thick creamy beige head, malty smell. Aroma of syrup, malt, roasted malts, biscuits, some fruity tones (cherry), carmael, candy sugar. Sweet taste with milk-chocolate notes. Body is full, creamy texture, low carbonation, sticky sugary finish. Well hidden alcohol. This one seems to be a sugarish dunkel to me. Good as dessert, i guess.

Loads of sweet malts (crystal malt?) Dark copper colored with small beige head.Very sweet and malty, a lip smacking bit of stickiness, nice feel with just the right amount of carbonation for the style. Quality stuff!

Reddish colour with a tan head, aroma is roasted malt, caramel and slightly alcohol. Flavor is pretty much the same with more sweetness out. Low carbonation and medium to full body with a sweet finish.
