3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 duff (5484) - Lund, SWEDEN - FEB 1, 2004
Great to see Weihenstephaner in Australia, even though its only the Kristal. Having said this, this is a nice Kristal. Still has those fruity banana esters of the regular heffe, and still a huge cloveyness. Really smooth, soft, and manages to cover most corners of the palate quite nicely, tart flavour, with some welcomed saltyness. Nice one. Definitely one of the better kristall weissbiers i've had.
2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 hopscotch (8215) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 1, 2004
Sparkling clear, light golden lager with a large, frothy, white head. Good retention. Good lacing. The aroma is soapy with notes of bubblegum, clove and orange peel. Light-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, spicy, dry finish.
3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 becksgenius (108) - Illinois, USA - JAN 23, 2004
The description sums it up pretty well. For lovers of kristall brews this certainly is a benchmark.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - JAN 19, 2004
Clear golden colour. Big, lasting head. Extremly pearling, it lasted for minutes. Very nice to watch. Taste yeasty, slightly sweet. Hints of spiciness and breadiness. Nice.

sugary yeasty caramel aroma. piss clear yellow, big head. Has a big carbonated malt taset to it. It ways it says its a malt liqour on it, thought not here apparently, and it does taste like a non skunked malt. Aint bad.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ungstrup (26255) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 12, 2004
A light yellow beer with a beutiful though collapsing head. The aroma is of wheat and yeast - just like a wheatbeer should be. The flavor is of wheat with hints of banana and yeast - just like it should be - I think it is called 4-vinyl guajacol. An OK kristal - but really my type of beer.
0.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 MartinKubert (862) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 11, 2004
Strongly sour wheat-aroma. Very yeasty! Unpleasant brew. Quite undrinkable.Classic school-example of a wheatbeer. Strong wheatyeast aroma, flavor and palate. Yark!
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - JAN 7, 2004
Bottled. Crystal clear pale gold beer with desperate larger bubbles rising consistently to form a thin speckled, almost fizzy head. Wheat and bready aromas. Crisp and fizzy on the tongue/palate. Flavour isn’t so intense, slightly sweet with a short finish. I expect this would be lovely on a hot European day watching the Tour de France or something.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 mutant (854) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 2, 2004
Gold with huge foamy head. Banana, clove and coriander aroma. Coriander is too much the dominant flavour. Not much of a finish.
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 jgb9348 (3964) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - DEC 31, 2003
Slightly hazy straw-golden coloured with a smaller sized white head. Aroma of banana, coriander seed, cloves and honey. Light to Medium-bodied; Nice spicey characterup front with a honey finish. Aftertaste light with some wheat an yeast characteristic. Overall, a nice kristall...lacking in a few taste complexities though! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased at Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, D.C. on 28-December-2003.
