3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours incredibly clear pale straw with an enormous white head. The head fades, but leaves plenty of lace behind. Big bubblegum, banana and clove nose. The flavor is loaded with bubblegum, some clove and light lemon. The malt is light, but some sweet breads. Medium/light body with biting carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(500 ml bottle: $2.99 at Hollingshead Deli in Orange, CA) I didnít expect much from this Kristallweizen, not because itís Weihenstephaner, but because I havenít found one in the style that I liked so far. Until now, that is. Very pleasant spice and moderate banana immediately set the tone early, and I canít stop myself from just sucking this first pint down like Iím dying of thirst. Itís mildly sweet and shows no bitterness at all. I think the beer tastes better when itís cold because Iím finding that as it warms up, the breadiness of the malt is coming out more and slowly pushing aside the wonderful spice, banana and bubblegum that I was digging earlier. Spice and bubblegum aromas mimic the flavor. Body is light-medium, with significant levels of carbonation keeping the palate refreshed and the stomach burpy. Relatively clear, yellow body is capped by well over an inch of bubbly, white head. Retention is above average as the head maintains a thin layer for most of the session. Lacing is patchy. Easily the best Kristallweizen Iíve tried, though admittedly I havenít tried all that many.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Wonderful appearance. Big, fluffy, long-lasting white head. The golden shade is so pale itís almost not to be seen at all. The aroma is incredibly strong - the strongest Iíve even encountered in a wheat beer - and smelling of crisp.... well... wheat beer. The taste is full. The aftertaste long. A fine beer I will surely return to.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pale and hazy with a thick whte head. The aroma is sweet and fruity, and very wheaty. Light, dry and very drinkable (and Iím not a wheat beer fan).

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2007 Pours clear, bright pale yellow with a full, semi creamy froth. Decent head retention. Good residual lacing w a full silky canopy. Aromas of crisp banana cream. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. The texture is somewhat creamy yet retains itís snappy cripness. Flavors are bright, crisp, and clean w/ a defined banana spice character although not overdone . Well balanced and very refreshing with a slight lemon rind and peach pit bittering on the finish. Highly recommended.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Morrisons 12-05-06. Nice light golden colour very clear medium white frothy head. Wheaty in taste just a little bit of banana detected, but in truth didnít really grab me, I suppose it was reasonably refreshing but a bit too clinical for me.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a 16.9oz. euro brown bottle with a freshness date on the bottom of the back label. Made a very good appearance, poured a clear pale golden with a large frothy, foamy white head that slowly settled into a thin foamy lacing, good carbonation. Had a cracker wheat malty and clove nose with whiffs of banana and fruit, pears and freshly sliced green apples. A crisp, carbonated smooth light bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability. Pear fruity and crackerish maltiness taste, crisp and sharp, followed by clove, light spice and subtle banana, a soft hoppiness towards the end and a dry, spicy wheat malty finish.
An excellent Kristal Weizen from one of my favorite brewers, tasty and highly quaffable.

3.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 19/20
I guess Iím just not that into Kristalls. Whatís the point of brewing a wheat beer if youíre going to filter out all the good yeasty, banana and coriander flavors. I have no idea why these beers are brewed as theyíre like Kolschís with a twist of metallic flavor.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours very light clear bright yellow with a white head that doesnít stay around very long. Clean crisp wheat aroma with some spice and acidity - the elements of citrus, but somehow it seems to break the two elements up. From the looks of it I would have guess light bodied, but it is more medium. Carbonation is just right. Light syrup feel as well, but not cloying. Taste is crisp with smooth malt with a light amount of spice and possibly banana, then a bit of yeast with a hint of dough and finishes with a spritzy hoppy taste. One of the most refreshing beers Iíve had. Full of flavor, but very unobtrusive to the palate. This would be a great beer to have with food, especially lighter fare. Recommended beer.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The color was yellow and was real bubbly like most wheat beers. the aroma wasnt worth talking about. It seemed to have a slightly more bitter taste( not much ) and slightly more smooth. I think this is comparable to a paulaner hefe. I will buy this again.
