The source of its pearling, effervescent taste is the secret fermentation process which we have developed especially for our crystal wheat beer. It quenches your thirst like no other beer. With its elegant appearance, it is the speciality of our brewery. Goes well with fish, seafood and light dishes.

Bottle. translucent golden colour with lots of carbonation. Explosive white fluffy head. Creamy yeast aroma, banana and spiciness. A little more subtle than the regular hefe. body is a little bit thin and watery. yeasty and sour and high in carbonation. Itís refreshing but not really my kind of weizen.

Biscuits and bananas, I say! Thatís the aroma, not some strange curse, that emanates from this clear golden brew sporting a rocky white head. Sweet doughy malts and banana is what greets your tongue as you drink, leaving a delicately fruity (banana and pear) finish. Not bad, but Iíll never understand why one whould want to filter a good hefeweizen.

Banananana and pear aroma from stately head, waveringly lacing to the edges like amateur skaters. (?) Mouthfeel is malty, with subdued carbonation in the body. I agree with szkot that itís light for wintertime, but imagining a warm summer day, I feel that this could be a big winner. Perhaps a bit sweet and busy for a session beer, but a few couldnít do any harm.

Pours pale yellow with a medium head. Smells slightly of cloves and banana. Taste is typical for the style. Perhaps a good beer for the summer, but seems kind of lacking during the winter.

Itís just not a wheat beer without the protein haze! Admittedly the first Kristall I have tasted, and what better way than Weihenstephaner (one of my favourite breweries). Poured into a Weiss glass, a beautiful fluffy inch of foam formed upon a transparent pale gold body. A clean aroma, yeasty-bread like and banana esters, quite sweet. Aroma was a little light on, possibly due to filtration. Good body, well rounded flavours and well balanced in the mouth. Banana and vanilla tones, quite subdued and relatively smooth, led to a medium, sweet aftertaste. Sessionable, but not complex.

Pour is golden with a smallish white head that lasted for a while...smell is sweet with light fruits (faintly) and some yeast...a little spicy...taste is a little sweet with bananas and some malty overtones...finish is nice and a little chewy...great example of this style...

Bottle. Pours a pale golden, light straw color with a very large continuous white head. Extreme carbanation. Good strong clove, spiced, yeasty aroma. Some flower scents. Very nice banana flavor. Fresh, smooth. Sweet vanilla finish. Didnt really see a big difference between a regular hefeweizen. Very enjoyable beer. Suprised.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2005 This is so good, one feels like they have cheated on their spouse after finishing a glass of this sinfully tasty brew. Crisp, clean, filling, and downright heavenly.

Bottle from Cost Plus. Popping the cap on my 62nd of the 65 beer styles! Opening the bottle gives a slight impression of skunkiness. Poured in a tall weizen glass, I get a pale straw color, very little haze, with a thin head. Still, thereís a little weizen taste of banana and clove, and a bit of German hop, otherwise a very light beer taste.

Not as complex as the hefe version but this is a very attractive beer, head dies rather too quickly tho, fresh fruity aroma and a clean refreshing flavour...lovely beer.
