Bottle. A very strong sweet banana/apricot aroma. Clear golden color with lots of bubbles and a head that wouldn’t stop. More typical Kristall flavor - light malt and banana. One of the top examples of a Kristallweizen.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 27, 2008 Nov, 2004. Washed down a curry most excellently. One of the better curry drinks I’ve had. Rather less attractive when drunk on its own afterwards. This is a beer which serves a purpose - and that purpose is most certainly not to be sniffed and savoured in isolation! [2.9]
Oct, 2005. A clean and fresh beer. Pleasant enough. Very light. But I’m not keen on the medicinal wheat flavour so that will always keep down any marks I give for wheat beers. [2.7]
May, 2008 A lager like beer. Pale yellow. Crisp, lean, dry. Clove notes dominate. It’s like a fairly dull lager but with addition of clove notes. [2.5]

I was not impressed at all. Tastes like Duvel Lite if there was such a thing. The hefe tastes far better than Kristal

My first Kristal. A castrated hefe might be a good description. The light lager color is nowhere near as beautiful as the cloudy hazy yellow of a hefe. Not as sweet or citrusy as a hefe. Still a good beer, but not perfect.

Somehow I had managed to not rate this, must be all the alcohol killing brain cells. Kristalweizen are kristalweizens, yeah its filtered etc, but its still good. Hefe-, Dunkel-, Kristal-, all your bases are covered

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Clear pale golden colour with bubbly white head. Aroma of malt wheat, yeast and clove/banana. Taste is sweet, banana, some citrus, light malt, with a slightly bitter dry finish. A very crisp and refreshing, highly carbonated beer. Good stuff.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2011 The regular hefe from Weihenstephaner is my favorite wheat beer so I was really eager to give this one a try. +++Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle the beer poured a crystal clear straw color with a fluffy white head. There was a sweet wheaty aroma. The flavor was sweet and wheaty with minimal citrus. Tastes ok but really is rather lacking in character compared to the original. This is the most disappointing product I have had from this brewer.

Light gold in colour. Aroma of wheat, malt, citrus and yeast. The flavour had some citrus (mostly lemons), some bananas, malt and a slight sweetness. Dry mouthfeel and a lightish body. Finishes tangy with a mild bitterness. Not to bad. Thanks for the beer piscator34.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: sweet, wheaty and some decent hops. Apperance: crystal clear orange gold with a smallish head. Flavour: initial sweetness giving way to wheaty and clove notes with just a hint of banana. Finishes with some hop notes and is quite thin.

Essentially a muted version of the Hefe. Not as clear as some of the other kristalls I have had. Nice enough but the style seems a little lacking in distinction as far as I can tell.
