The source of its pearling, effervescent taste is the secret fermentation process which we have developed especially for our crystal wheat beer. It quenches your thirst like no other beer. With its elegant appearance, it is the speciality of our brewery. Goes well with fish, seafood and light dishes.

Golden with a short lasting head, somehow doesn’t look as good when clear. Aromas are still the same old banana and spices with some Autumn fruit - pears and apples. Flavours are refreshing and dry with banana, cloves and some citrus. The carbonation somehow seems more pronounced in the kristal beers. Still a good summer drink.

Citrusaroma, almost honeyish, like clover honey. Slightly herbal bitter af first. After a while a slight estery fruitiness comes up. Certainly not bad, but the hefeweizen is better.

bottle. poured light yellow gold and very fizzy with a white fizzy head. aroma of champagne, chardonay, lemon, grass, hay... initial wheat, yeast, lemon grass taste...a very effervescent palate, light astringent, refreshing...not a whole lot of character but enjoyable and very refreshing...would be nice for spring, tastes like April.

500ml bottle. Pours crystal clear sparkling pale yellow (hence the name, eh?) with a nice creamy white head that sticks around and looks great for a while. Pleasant sweet yeasty wheaty aroma. Taste is smooth and flavorful, yeasty and a little sweet but dryer than most hefeweizens. Nice body and palate, not heavy but full and malty for a weisse. I like it! Very nice!

Bottle. translucent golden colour with lots of carbonation. Explosive white fluffy head. Creamy yeast aroma, banana and spiciness. A little more subtle than the regular hefe. body is a little bit thin and watery. yeasty and sour and high in carbonation. It’s refreshing but not really my kind of weizen.

Biscuits and bananas, I say! That’s the aroma, not some strange curse, that emanates from this clear golden brew sporting a rocky white head. Sweet doughy malts and banana is what greets your tongue as you drink, leaving a delicately fruity (banana and pear) finish. Not bad, but I’ll never understand why one whould want to filter a good hefeweizen.

Banananana and pear aroma from stately head, waveringly lacing to the edges like amateur skaters. (?) Mouthfeel is malty, with subdued carbonation in the body. I agree with szkot that it’s light for wintertime, but imagining a warm summer day, I feel that this could be a big winner. Perhaps a bit sweet and busy for a session beer, but a few couldn’t do any harm.

Pours pale yellow with a medium head. Smells slightly of cloves and banana. Taste is typical for the style. Perhaps a good beer for the summer, but seems kind of lacking during the winter.

It’s just not a wheat beer without the protein haze! Admittedly the first Kristall I have tasted, and what better way than Weihenstephaner (one of my favourite breweries). Poured into a Weiss glass, a beautiful fluffy inch of foam formed upon a transparent pale gold body. A clean aroma, yeasty-bread like and banana esters, quite sweet. Aroma was a little light on, possibly due to filtration. Good body, well rounded flavours and well balanced in the mouth. Banana and vanilla tones, quite subdued and relatively smooth, led to a medium, sweet aftertaste. Sessionable, but not complex.
