3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Backlog rating. Bottle at home from Ales by Mail. It pours a clean pale straw color with a large white head that sticks around. Aroma is yeasty, citrusy and grainy with notes of banana and bread dough. Taste is crispy and tangy, with notes of grains, hay, citrus, banana, yeast, spices. Finishes quite spicy and dry. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Lacks some character and body compared to the original version, but retains the highly drinkability and good part of the flavour.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very interesting beer, like a lager-weiss crossover. Not got the same aaaaahhhh of the hefe but I love this little curiosity of a beer and not a type I’m familiar of at all. Looks amazing and pilsner esque, almost too golden and handsome for words then it bangs you with those cloves and banana flavours of a hefe. Silky on the palate and feels royal when you sip. I just wish it was a hefe but a great beer practical joke. ’What’s that plain john, want another boring lager that you’ve been drinking for 8 million years?’ ’OK I’ll pore it mate’ then hit im’ with this fucker. Good one, he might thank you for it.....

Geweldig lekkere kristall weisse dit. Drinkt heerlijk weg. Weinig tot geen schuim. Mooi helder bier.

On bottle from Systembolaget Strømstad. Clear golden color, good foam. Fruity and floral aromas, some banana; medium/low aroma intensity. Medium/light body & medium complexity. SOme bitterness, good balance. Enjoyable, but a bit disappointing on aroma intensity.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2014 500ml bottle poured in its own weizen glass.
A - Huge fluffy bubbled aired white head. many tiny bubbles fleeing from the bottom. Pale yellow and clear color. A filtered Weiss, right?
S - Strong smell of banana in the nose. Cinnamon and cloves. Delicious flowery-spicy combination. Also malts and yeasts. The pure definition of liquid bread
T - Much like the aroma. Wheat is very evident followed by the banana and spices (again, cinnamon and cloves). A bit earthy too. Very very light hops bitterness. Just great
M - Medium and bit molasses body. Big carbonation. Dry taste and light bitterness. Very pleasant and drinkable
O - Delicious as expected from a Weihenstephaner. Refreshing and delicious
