2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A- Corn, grains, malty.
A- Golden color, clear liquid, white head.
T- Corn, grains, straw, slightly sweet, crisp.
P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, crisp finish.
O- I think this one explains itself. While it’s not something I’d seek out, it was good for what it was and I can appreciate it for that. Not my thing but far from being bad.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Pours a clear pale straw gold body under a small fizzy white head that faded fairly quickly. The nose is slightly husky and grainy without a hop presence. The flavor is pretty bland and boring, grainy and slightly resembling cardboard in a way. Light bodied and very fizzy with a bland flabby malt finish. About what was expected.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear, light golden pour with thin, stable white head. Delicious & classic malty German aroma and matching taste. Light sweetness and silky smooth body. Similar to a Heineken with a little more subdued & refined character. Just an overall well done & easy drinking lager with a little more character than usual. My final 3.2 doesn’t do it much justice or tell the whole story, 5 out of 5 for the style. It’s official for me, Germany makes the best lagers. Very nice!

My bottle says Original Premium, but I get redirected to the Helles. Oh well. It’s a standard lager with corn sweetness but a sharper bite of hops on the finish. Doesn’t have the horrible skunkiness of a green bottle and is a bit better. Just OK though, which is unusual for my favorite brewer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very good beer as for this malty style. Perfect appearance with rich white and lasting white head, good lacing. Malty aroma, but happily without honey notes, rereshing and drinkable, there is even some hops on finish. Weihenstephaner never disapointed me so far.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2015 Last night was my easy-drinking lager night for Weihenstephaner, I guess. Sometimes, mild and simple beers are the best medicine to end a long day. Weihenstephaner’s Helles fits perfectly into that category. Smells is straightforward - grains and grassy hops. Flavor has bread-like sweetness balanced by hoppy bitterness. Mouthfeel is crisp, lively, clean, and smooth. Again, this is simplicity that works. And once in a while, it’s nice to drink a classic example of the style that doesn’t feature and "Hell" jokes.
