2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle poured into dimpled mug. Clear golden color with a massive frothy white head and light carbonation. Slightly sweet bready lager aroma. Flavor is light malt with no real hop profile. Mouthfeel is smooth and unobtrusive. I realize this is isn’t meant to be overpowering so it can be drunk in volume, but it’s a bit dull for my taste. I can appreciate it, but it’s just not my style.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
For those weaned on wheat beer, this might be a delight. I prefer the barley malt taste. This beer is very light in color, with a small head. The malt taste is o.k., for a wheat beer, but nothing special. The hops are light which doesn’t allow them to make the malt taste more interesting.

Bamberg Bash, Day 1. Train bottle swig. Lightly hazy pale gold beer. Tidy ivory coloured head. Palate is light and softish and semi dry. Smooth dry pale malt. Slight lemon tang provides interest. Light spice before a light and semi dry finish. A tasty little number.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours perfect and golden. Brilliant clarity and a white head of foam that belongs there. It looks like sunshine. It smells like sunshine. Nose is fresh and sweet. Grass, a light grain sweetness that’s almost honey. Not the whole bowl of honey mind you. It’s just a taste of it. Doughy with a bit of yeast and light little pepper. Taste is smooth and so flawless. It’s light, it’s crisp. it has a lightness that defies your appetite for it. You could drink all six of these and never be satisfied. So go slowly and enjoy them instead. Clean a touch bitter in the dry finish and row after row of pale malt. Grain you can see in your minds eye. Swollen and golden and waving in the soft wind of summer. A touch of herbal and pepper to keep your feet on the ground and a delicate body to keep your eye sweetly on the horizon.
