3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A rather odorless beer, but an easy light flavor. Could drink all night, sincei it goes down as easy as water, however, not exciting enough to want to drink all night.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled: Pale yellow. Thin white head. Malty and sweet in the nose. Hops, light fruit and a fine maltcharacter in the flavour. Nice bitterness in the end.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I've had a couple of these at opposite ends of the spectrum. Will need to re-rate later. Body is a light amber color with a slight haze. White head dies quickly. Nice light fruit aroma is more floral than citrus. High carbonation cleans up well without bitterness. Beer is light and refreshingly crisp.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light yellow color with a fair sized head. I should have had this one prior to the stout because my senses are shot.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Was THIS a letdown!
After trying 2 amazing products from the same brewer, this is barely passable.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big golden almost slight amber color. Small amount of white head, but I could have got more by jiggling it I'm sure. Smells sweet, like pouring some honey over lettuce. Good abundant hops detectable in the background, but they are not very crisp smelling. Begins with lots of mildly sweet malt flavor with some hops in the background that reminds me of early morning dew on the grass. Peppery and lots of carbonation add a lively mouthfeel. Some moderately bitter flavors on the finish and more lightly sweet malt. No huge complexity or over the top flavors, but it just screams well-made.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
My bottle said original Lager, but it's the same beer. Sweetish but hoppy aroma. Quite a light yellow but with a nice head. Moderately bitter, thick texture but only has a short finish. Average

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2003 Clear yellow with a white head, looks good in the tall glass. Mild malt sweetness, with just a touch of a hop bite. Nothing "off", and fairly unobtrusive. Works well with - surprise! - German food.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2009 Bottle. Pours light gold with very good clarity. Medium, frothy-creamy white head, somewhat persistent with little to no lacing. Aroma is pils malt dominant with DMS notes as acceptable for style. Hop notes are spicy and earthy, reminiscent of noble varieties. Light fruity yeast notes present at end. Flavor is lightly sweet malt with pils malt being dominant. Hop bitterness balances well with the malt. Finish is malty. Medium-light bodied with medium carbonation. Smooth maltiness with no hint of astringency.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bought in the 1 pint euro brown bottle.Nice traditional style label..oldest brewery in the world!!
I am slightly dissapointed with the appearance..yeah i know lager is meant to be yellow..but this is almost macro yellow very small white head..seen better looking lagers.
smell is very muted i do detect the floral hoppiness plus some weak malts..at least this smells fresh.
Taste is also a bit of a dissapointment, don't get me wrong, this is above average..sort of lemon grass..doughy flavour..slightlt astringent near the end of the sip.
Mouthfeel is reasonable though its slighly to dry for my taste.
Its drinkable ok ..goes down real well.
Notes..overall I am very dissapointed with my first taset of the worlds oldest brewery..this was a well brewed lager but very pedestrian..ordinary..give me a Paulaner lager or a Jahr hundert bier anytime.
