COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes our yellow bright lager, “Original”, a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine poured, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Formerly known as "Weihenstephaner Original Bayrisch Mild (Premium)".

Draft @ Taco Mac Kennesaw. Overall impression was good for an easy drinking lager, but the weakest of the Weihenstephaner lineup that I’ve had. Pours as crystal clear golden color with with short lasting head. Smell is light grassy, grains and very mild hop aroma. Taste is much the same with straw as well. Decent session lager.

Clear golden color with white head. Quite sweet grains and malts, hints of skunky hops in the aroma. Taste is sweet malts and grains, crisp, but very sweet. Medium carbonation. Boy, this is too sweet.

11.2 oz bottle into a tulip. Bottle date coded 0075 so the assumption is that this was bottled late Feb. 2015. Should be good theoretically until late this month at least. A: Poured very cold. 1" of bubbly white foam atop a crystal clear body with small amounts of visible carbonation. Lacing is light but noticeable all around the glass. S: Biscuit and cracker maltiness and the slightest floral hop note. Very subtle but delicious scent. T: Surprisingly, the hops are first to the palate with a sharp though still subtle bitterness. The malts follow with a crackery bite though without the authority they show in the nose. Delicious though hardly in your face. M: This is where this brewer’s beers usually shine though this one seems a bit restrained. Body is light and refreshing with creamy foam feeling. It begs for another sip. O: An excellent helles that is underrated IMO, though the $12/6 price is a bit prohibitive. I enjoy splurging on these from time to time. Can’t be beat as a hot day refresher.

This was a good light German beer. Pours a nice clear yellow good head not bitter easy drinking would recommend.

50cl bottle at home. Outside temperature was 33 °C and I was coming back from sports. This might explain everyhing about my appreciation of this beer... Pale with an average dense head, leaving average lacing. Grassy and malty aromas. Taste is bitter, hay, and balanced with a soft and pleasant malt sweetness. Average carboation and light body. So thirst quenching!

Really tasty. Has a bit of a skinky nose but is refreshing. Nothing spectacular but really solid.

Bottle from Stockmann in Tallinn. BB 11.02.16. Clear, pale golden colour with a big white frothy head. Stays and laces quite nicely. Enjoyable, but very modest, grainy and bready aroma with subtle spicy hoppiness, some citric and floral notes. Tastes similarily, can’t really add anything. Soft mouthfeel with a very thin and subtle fizz. Body medium. Dryish grainy finish. Overall? Nice. I like it.

The beer pours a very clear straw color with a small white head that fades quickly. The aroma is quite skunky, but there is some clean Pils malt hovering underneath the skunk. The taste is slightly sweet and a touch bitter with a nearly non-existent aftertaste. The palate fuses a medium-light body, soft carbonation, and a thin and slick texture.

Among better Helles. Very bright and superb colour, almost fluorescent green yellow. Clean and mild, medium sweetness. Easy drinking, taste and aroma typical.
