Poured into a tall lager glass. Golden color with three fingers of head; puffy like a cloud. Lots of beautiful bubbles floating up.
Fresh cut grain smell.
Soft metallic taste, bitter throughout but not off-putting. Some mild maltiness to it as well, bready.
Crisp, yet soft and smooth texture. Lot of carbonation and medium body.
Overall, delicious and good for you.

Clear golden beer, medium white head with pretty nice lacing. Malty nose with dry notes, grass, some mild spiciness. Flavor is malty, some grain, lemony notes and grassy hops in the semi-dry finish. Smooth palate. Extremely quaffable.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2015 Light carbonation and body and texture. Biscotti and cream. The malt is the star here. Goes down way too easy and I see why this is a "headache beer". Very clean finish Enjoyable. At it’s best on a warm/hot day.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Trinkgut in Goch. The beer is golden colored and pours a large white head. The aroma is malty and light sweet with tones of malts, yeast, grass and a hint of citrus. Taste is light sweet and malty and medium bodied. The finish is light bitter, light sour and grainy.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a golden color of average clearness, good head but it dissipates quickly. Aroma is malt, weak caramel, weak hops, biscuit. Taste is metallic, maybe poor bottling for that note, also caramel and light hops. Not a lot going on here but a clean and drinkable beer. Anyone who doesn’t like this brewery should try their hefe, its to die for.

Valjunlainen, menettelevä pubikalja. Ei juuri Lapin Kultaa kummempaa. Aika pettymys muihin nähden.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a pale gold color with a two finger width head. It has that sweet aroma of grassy hops, biscuity malts or whatever.. It has a heavier body than I’d anticipated. I would have expected this to be a very light body, but it’s more of a medium body. The taste reminds me of a lot of other german lagers/pilsners. It has that typical German hoppy taste (which I guess is Saaz, Noble or whatever).

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Grass aroma. Sweetish, some metallic bitterness in the finish. Bland and boring, like so many brews from Weihenstephan. Is it the most overrated German brewery? Probably. Not saying that this style isn’t boring per se, but this one takes boring to a whole new level. The Helles from Ayinger for example managed to have a pleasant and appealing taste. This one doesn’t even achieve that.
