A good beer takes time. The long lager time makes our pale beer a matter of mild, flavourful beer enjoyment. Brewed in accordance with a centuries-old beer tradition on Weihenstephan Hill.

From a 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear light golden color with an ample thick white head. Moderate carbonation. Smells of sweet carmel, bread, and hay. Taste is dominated by sweet carmel and bread-like malt flavors with very slight hoppiness to it. Mostly sweet finish. A little less hop character than I would expect. A decent session beer but a little sweeter than I would like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Grosse déception pour cette bavaroise qui n’a qu’un goût de pils de bas étage. A oublier. Vite.

Schmackhaftes und im oberen Bereich anzusiedelndes Helles! Wiederholungsbedürftig ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle sampler. Pale gold with small white head. Bready malt, hay, grains, lager yeast. Unpleasant for me.

This is definitely better than most lagers out there, but coming from Weihenstephaner brewery this is beer is a bit of a letdown. Pours a translucent yellow gold, with a frothy but quickly disapating head. Aromas of yeast and very subtle citrus, which follows through in th flavor. Aroma of grass as well. A smooth mouthfeel, but slightly over bitter on the finish. It’s a standout among lagers, but compared to this brewery’s hefeweizens it’s nothing that impressive.

(Draught at Weihenstephaner am Hackeschen Markt, Berlin, 24 July 2014) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, grass, hay, cereal and a touch of vanilla. Malty taste with bread, grass, hay, hints of tropical fruit and a gentle grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a light sweetness. Tasty and well balanced, but doesn’t really stand out. Quite enjoyable.
