COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes our yellow bright lager, “Original”, a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine poured, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Formerly known as "Weihenstephaner Original Bayrisch Mild (Premium)".

Pale golden yellow, foamy white head. Smells of grain and maybe some malt. Taste of wheat/hay. Good beer.

Bottle, 500 ml, shared with JFK10000 and Miro. Pours clear golden with medium white head. Malty, sweet, bready, grainy, grassy. Light bodied. Boring.

Clear golden yellow beer with smallish head on top and it leaves some nice lacing behind. Aroma has honey sweetness, barley malts and lots of it. Taste is nice and malty, honey sweetness too. Medium body and medium carbonation. Excellent lager, if every lager would be like this.

the aroma is malty and herbal with shades of buckwheat and straw... the taste clear and refreshening, malty and tart, with notes of herbs and spices, and with smooth hoppy bitterness... dry and bitter aftertaste...

Beautiful pour creates a fluffy, medium duration head over a golden beer. Bread yeast on the aroma along with a whiff of mowed grass. The light, tangy taste is mostly sweet. This brewery is just so consistent, and it travels 4,500 miles to get to me. The label on the bottle I drank identifies the beer as Original Premium, but who am I to quibble for a lager this delicious.

Rated to style and properly poured into correct/traditional glassware, obviously the pilsener glass. The appearance was the normal yellow cloudy/haziness with a nice semi-transparent color to it allowing some carbonation to be seen rising at a nice pace. A one finger white foamy head dissipated fairly quickly leaving sticky slim white rings. The smell started off with the crisp sweet corn maltiness. Delicate biscuit to breadiness. Dropping into a light crisp sweet grassiness as it opens up. The taste was mildly malty sweet weaving the bready/biscuit goodness into the sweet corn. Grassy hops blend sweetly. Delicate sweet bready to corn-like aftertaste. Quick semi-malty finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a spectacular sessionability about it. Carbonation finishes soft but acceptable since it is a Helles lager. Overall, as a Helles lager, what’s really wrong with this, I barely see anything. I think the assclowns before me have no clue what they’re looking at. Let’s not re-invent the wheel, people. When rating Helles Lagers, "apples to apples and oranges to oranges," right? We’re not rating a double/imperial stout here. Now pass the bratwurst, please!

Pours clear with white head. Aroma is cereal and malty. Flavour is grains, metal and even notes of glue. This is a somewhat disappointing beer by a great brewery.

Silky liquid corn flakes cereal. One of the best Helles beers out there. Aroma is light and appearance is right for the style pale pale yella with some head that never quits. Extremely malty with little to no bitterness. Finish is nice balanced malts and a wee bit sweet. Really great example of the style. Simple and satisfying.

Bottle at home. Pours golden with medium sized white head. Aroma of bready maltiness that differs from most lagers. The aroma is more intense than average lager. Hint of hops there as well. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Good.

500ml bottle into weizen glass. Grainy, peppery aroma. Pale hazy yellow beer with towering white head and constant fine carbonation. Sweet grainy flavour, easy drinking. Finish is sweet and slightly spicy. Pretty standard German quaffer.
