Wulfstan (509), California, USA Dec 7, 2007 Updated: May 27, 2008After trying this once and being unimpressed, I have several months later revisited it. I don’t klnow what the explanation is, but this seems to me clearly to be an unequivocally all-round outstanding beer. It’s gold with a huge white head steadily shrinking to a permanent smaller head. It leaves very nice lace. The aroma is bread, honey, hints of pine, and light fruit, and overall extremely nice. The taste is wonderful, sublte, complex, balanced, with a lot of flavour and full, even body. It tastes of bread, pine, honey, hints of lemon, sweetish with light bitterness. It is exceedingly drinkable and one of those beers that fits the definition, to me, of "beer." BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Nov 12, 2007 Bottle poured into pint glass. Rather average beer. Clear goulden colour with good carbonation but no real head. Aroma is faint grain and the flavour is thin with more grain. Not bad, just average. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA Nov 2, 2007 An alright looking yellow with a foamy quickly diminishing head. Sweet malt and ammonia nose. It has a tart sour mash kind of taste with an after taste that reminds me of the smell of silage witch is a combination of ground alfalfa, corn and stalks fermented. Lets just say, it tastes like it might have turned. phobos1031 (71), Paradise, Nevada, USA Nov 1, 2007 25oz bottle. mildly cloudy pale yellow color. medium white head. goes away in a couple of mins. sweet malty, wheat, wet forest smell. light fruity malt taste. quick to disappear on the palate. barely any after taste. crisp and fresh. i can dig it! Ron (1002), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 24, 2007 Golden in color with almost no head. Aroma of sweet malts, corn and citrus. The flavor is weak citrus, sweet malts, with a thin palate. Not their best brew by far, but inoffensive. CaptBier (301), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Oct 19, 2007 Bottle. Golden pour and thick white lasting head. Lots of bubbly action. Floral aroma. Thin, easy to drink. Good session beer. derst27 (35), Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA Oct 10, 2007 Plain, mild ale aroma with a very clear golden hue and not much head out of the bottle. Subtle flavor with hardly any aftertaste and very little more than a weak ale taste. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 8, 2007 Bottle. High white creamy and lasting head. Clear light yellow body. Lovely barley malt aroma. Barley malt is also very present in the flaovor (I like that). Carbonation is low and aftertaste relatively short. The beer might seem a bit thin but still I find it pretty good.
