chibbyman (19), kabul, Afghanistan Jul 26, 2009 nothing exiciting on nosing, but very well balanced & very clean. this beer gets no love because of all the fucking snobby people, who forgot what traditional lagers are all about... 1/4 click below hofbrau lager.... but still f’ing good beer. been brewing beer for as long as beer has been made... if you dont like it.... suck it!! curly (549), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 24, 2009 Pours clear light golden yellow with a frothy white head that fades. Strong aroma of sweet fruit; pear and apple mostly. Taste is sweet with fruit and wheat. Light body, very plain but enjoyable on a hot day. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 23, 2009 gives a weak aromayet still maintains a touch of banana and bubblegum. ase fizzy with low on the overall flavor with some mild taste Butters (1623), Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2009 Bottle shared by curly at woody’s. Pours a clear light gold with ring of white head. Aroma is a boring blend of corn and butter. Flavor is much the same with a distinct sweetness and musty oxidized finish. I am hoping this is an old bottle, cause - woould rather drink a bud than this. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jul 18, 2009 12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a crystal clear, yellow body with a two finger high head of near-white foam.
Smell: It’s a light, delicate nose, but the notes present display some pleasant fragrant hints of pils malt, herbaceous Noble hops, lemongrass, chewing gum, an effortless yeastiness, and maybe even a bit of DMS.
Taste: Sweetish, grainy backdrop of pilsener malts countered by some herbal, grassy Noble European hops and a clean, though somewhat subtle bitterness. Light yeastiness. Very small, very far-off hint of bubble gum and lemongrass. Hint of fruit on the lightly sweetish finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A fine beer, notable for it’s easy-drinking, refreshing qualities, though, please, pass their hefeweizen. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 11, 2009 Pours golden with not much head. Smell is yeasty, grassy and malty. Taste is a little yeasty and doughy more than anything. Drinkable, but not my favorite beer of this style. Not particularly good because of the doughiness and slightly over than wanted sweetness which maskes the crispness and the hops fade into the background. djd07 (724), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 11, 2009 Bottle as shown. Pours a clear yellow golden with a large frothy white that lasts awhile leaving behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is wheat grass, yeast, and citrus. Thin mouthfeel and a bit watery on the palate with a malty yeast and citrus with a dry finish. A decent helles from Weihenstephan. Maddog (231), Kettering, Ohio, USA Jul 4, 2009 Certainly a session beer.... this one looks pee yellow like a Crudweiser but with the aroma of a German lager. Flavors of yeast, grass and that typical German taste that I do enjoy, but otherwise a pretty nondescript beer to say the least. With that being said, I would still drink this over any mass produced macro brewed piece of crap from AB, Miller or Coors..... all foreign companies by the way.
