Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia Apr 27, 2005 Yeah, see this is what you need. Good pale colour with expanding head. Nice malty breadiness on the nose and a similar mouthfeel. It fills the palate and then allows a subtle hit of firm hop and malt character to come through. This is a great brewery. highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia Apr 22, 2005 Beautifully balanced Helles from the world’s oldest brewery. Poured a pale gold colour with a rocky 1cm head that quickly receded but laced well. The zesty aroma showed lemons, piney hops, buttery malt and a hint of dough. Medium bodied. Very malty initially but with grassy hops and peachy fruitiness coming through in the middle. Restrained bitterness. Very fresh in the nose and on the tongue. Superb session drinking.

OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Apr 8, 2005 Bright yellow color on the pour with a white head. Lots of carbonation with light dough like aroma. A pretty simple brew not much hop smell or taste. It has a little more body to it than an American Pilsner and a little more taste too. It finishes a little dry and doesn’t outdo itself with taste either. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 23, 2005 Good carbonization in a bright yellow beer. Lasting white head and lacing. Light cookie aroma. Sweet but flavour is like a mild pilsener. No strong hops or finish. Very good with a meal. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Mar 14, 2005 Labeled ’Original Premium.’ Pours crystal clear golden with sweet grassy aromas. Smells very fresh. In the mouth I get a bit of yeast bite but that is it. Dry on the palate. Ultimately quite bland. ChrisPants (317), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Mar 8, 2005 I smell chicken, but that’s dinner. Let me go to the other room. BBQ sauce? No...to the bathroom. Turn the fan on. Aroma of stale dried celery (and this time, it’s not dinner). So, stale dried celery aroma. Mouthfeel is thin sparkling cider, but without the astringency--maintaining the dry finish without the sweet/sour pucker. A touch malty, well-balanced with the hops; the yeast variety blends imperceptibly into the finish. From bottle. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Feb 20, 2005 The appearance of this beer when just poured is delightful. Gorgeous golden color with a nice white head. The head quickly disappears leaving only a lacing around the edge of the glass. The flavor of the beer was as clean as can be imagined. A slight citrusy flavor is evident but certainly not in overwhelming quantities. Very enjoyable. The only downside was that about midway through the glass it picked up a bitterness that was unfortunate. beerandrugby (210), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Feb 18, 2005 bottle. poured a very clear yellow gold, aroma of sweet hay malt, initial sweet bready malt taste very round hop taste makes for a pleasant but un complex flavor. nice beer, apparently its been around since 1040 which is pretty cool.
