Grassy aroma, pungent and yet mild. Buttery palate and a rich malt flavors with some more grass notes. JediMindTricks (240), Hampton, Virginia, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 5, 2003 The nice pillowy head was immediately noticable along with the very pale traw color. Not too malty, and had a decent hop bite. Nothing real exciting. Phatz (225), Paradise, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 2, 2006 Appearance: The clarity is spectacular. It pours a pale golden color and showcase tremendous carbonation activity. The lacing is spotty and ideal.
Smell: This beer has the essence of freshness. What does that mean? I’m not exactly sure how to explain the super fresh cut grain aroma and the sweet malt only added to it. There in a nice light floral hop aroma as well.
Taste: Everything about this beer is simple and clean. It is not big and complex in the American style. It is classically simple and tasty making it incredibly sessionable. This must be one of the most thirst quenching lagers I’ve tasted. It is built with a solid malt backbone and sprinkled lightly with a floral hop character. It is as simple as that. The aftertaste lingers on and on with a nice clean dry feel.
Mouthfeel: crisp light and very easy this beer is exceptionally crisp and clean with a lip smacking dryness and a tingly finish.
Drinkability: If you are looking something complex to analyze this is the wrong choice. If you are looking for a case of a quaffable authentic German Lager to serve at your next cook out this summer there would be few better choices than Weihenstephaner Original.
Hope this is helpful.

Nothing too special about this brew, but I wouldn’t mind buying again. I would like this as a nice kicking back beer. Allseeingeye (223), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2002 Rich gold color with a generous head. Mild vanilla, honey, and orange blossum smell. Honey/caramel flavors with citrus tones. The head is gone now, but meager tatters of lace are determined to hang on. Malt and honey starting to shine through as this nears room temp. Subtle hop and iced tea finish lingers
