Commercial Description:
A good beer takes time. The long lager time makes our pale beer a matter of mild, flavourful beer enjoyment. Brewed in accordance with a centuries-old beer tradition on Weihenstephan Hill.

**Highly underrated** Pours bright, pale yellow w/ a full, creamy froth. Good head retention reveals a silky canopy w/ a few spattered islands and a full ring of lace. Aromas of fresh malts and herbs. Medium nectar w/ ample soft residual effers. Texture is close to cream. Flavors are bright, crisp and clean w/ delicious vanilla cream, citrus nectar, and mild herbs. This has got to be the best tasting lager I’ve ever had. The finish has a most excellent bittering component keeping me in the ready for another sip. Overall: flavorful and well balanced with none of the typical skunky flavors present in most lagers. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommended.

After trying this once and being unimpressed, I have several months later revisited it. I don’t klnow what the explanation is, but this seems to me clearly to be an unequivocally all-round outstanding beer. It’s gold with a huge white head steadily shrinking to a permanent smaller head. It leaves very nice lace. The aroma is bread, honey, hints of pine, and light fruit, and overall extremely nice. The taste is wonderful, sublte, complex, balanced, with a lot of flavour and full, even body. It tastes of bread, pine, honey, hints of lemon, sweetish with light bitterness. It is exceedingly drinkable and one of those beers that fits the definition, to me, of "beer."

The unchallenged king of Pilsners. A true taste of pure, artisanal brewing skill from the oldest brewery in the world. Completely dominates the competetion.

Good lager. Similer to Hacker Pshorre Munich, it is one of the best non weiss.

Labeled as Original Lager. I was very impressed by this. I thought it was a first-rate lager, top of its style, and am rating it accordingly, especially since lagers tend not to get the highest ratings here at RateBeer.

12oz bottle: Pours golden yellow with a white head. This is the definitive classic german pilsner. Despite the 43% rating here, I love this beer. great stuff.
