3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed 12/23/2012. 11.2 oz bottle into a pilsner glass.
A: Pours a medium straw color with great clarity. The head is a two finger white color with nice retention. The head retains more strongly away from the glass, creating a ’floater’...usually a sign of a hoppy beer. Intrigued!
S: Very well hopped, which I always like. Tons of grassy, zesty noble hops overpower - in a good way - the pale malts.
T: Light malt sweetness gives way to pure grassy hop goodness. Simple, but it works here. The only real complaint I have is that the finish isn’t quite as balanced as I like. As such, it’s a bit less drinkable than it could be. Having said that, it grows on me.
M: The carbonation grants this a coarse, tingly sensation on the palate. It’s not entirely bone dry on the finish, either. If anything, it’s more a pils to savor, rather than one to chug.
O: I feel that pilsners - when they’re done well - provide a great example of simple refreshment in lieu of water. This is one I feel that stacks up nicely. It strikes a middle ground between the intensity of Prima Pils and the delicacy of Pilsner Urquell.

Pours golden yellow, excellent clarity, no head retention. Not much aroma. Long fruity finish. An enjoyable and refreshing brew.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear light golden, good frothy white head, vanishes after a while, thin layer remains, nice lacing; malty nose, bread, dough, grass, basement aromas; mild sweetbitter taste, bit toasted; medium body, average carbonation; smooth dry and bittersweet finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A light golden colour, with a delicate head that thankfully does not have the effervescence of the Hefeweisbier or the kristall weissbier. Very traditional Pilsener flavour with a lovely bitter hint after taste.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 8, 2013 Bottle: light straw color, almost like light apple juice with nice clarity and a cloud-like, puffy white head that leaves some nice, chunky lace behind. Aroma is crisp and full of lager yeast. Lemon, herbal zest, grassy, mild citric hints, bready malt, a touch of metallic overtones and slight DMS. Taste is very light fruit zest; lemon, apple, mild citrus. Toasted cereal grains, light bread, mild hop grass and floral tones and good earthy/dirty notes on the back. So clean, fresh, and pure. Awesome pilsner, drinkable as the day is long.

1.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: NOV 23, 2013 Easy drinking - clean mouthfeel - not enough noble hops - a bit uninteresting - the most neutral tasting pilsner I’ve had - pleasant enough - palate cleanser as an interlude before more flavoursome brew... Or a beer with SOME flavour at least!

Got this right off the boat, this is the first time that this has been imported into the US. Clear golden color, nice foam retention. The taste is quite sweet for a Pilsener, much sweeter than say Bitburger. Good malty aftertaste, but I miss the hops bite from it. An excellent Helles Lager, but not much of a PIlsener. Still, a very high quality beer.

Not really that good to me. Kind of plain and not much to this one. Maybe I should have it again since its been a while.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle, many thanks to Finn. Frothy white head leaving spotty rings behind. Clear, late straw coloured body. Bread, pale malts and noble hops on the nos. Grass and gentle herbal hoppy taste, mild hints of lemon. Smooth and restrained dry, bittersweet ending. Fine bodied. Clean and refreshing. Well made, decent version of the style (Tromsø 01.09.2013).

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Save On. Very pale clear gold with lasting flat head and lace and continuous bubble. Very pungent grassy noble hops with even a hint of skunkiness. Mild crackery malt sweetness with fairly dry noble hop finish. Very light palate. Refreshing and fine, but hard to tell if it’s any better than, says, Bitburger.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear light golden color with a nice head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of citrus, malt sweetness and fresh grain. Taste of malt sweetness, bit of citrus and fresh grain. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Light body, crisp, smooth and refreshing. Enjoyable beer for the style. Nothing wrong with a good German Pilsner once in a while.
