3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed 12/23/2012. 11.2 oz bottle into a pilsner glass.
A: Pours a medium straw color with great clarity. The head is a two finger white color with nice retention. The head retains more strongly away from the glass, creating a ’floater’...usually a sign of a hoppy beer. Intrigued!
S: Very well hopped, which I always like. Tons of grassy, zesty noble hops overpower - in a good way - the pale malts.
T: Light malt sweetness gives way to pure grassy hop goodness. Simple, but it works here. The only real complaint I have is that the finish isn’t quite as balanced as I like. As such, it’s a bit less drinkable than it could be. Having said that, it grows on me.
M: The carbonation grants this a coarse, tingly sensation on the palate. It’s not entirely bone dry on the finish, either. If anything, it’s more a pils to savor, rather than one to chug.
O: I feel that pilsners - when they’re done well - provide a great example of simple refreshment in lieu of water. This is one I feel that stacks up nicely. It strikes a middle ground between the intensity of Prima Pils and the delicacy of Pilsner Urquell.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
.2l pour from tap into a tiny shaker pint. Yellow and clear with lots of carbonation and a fizzy white head. Light bodied, fairly thin, moderately crisp, a little watery, and dry. Nose is light malt, very faint citrus. Taste takes a backseat to the dryness. Pretty bitter. Not too much going on here.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap (16 oz) @ Mule Bar.
Appearance: Clear pale golden-blond with a small white head, good retention and heavy lacing.
Aroma: The nose is really fresh with breadied cereals, pils malt, nice grassy presence and mild hoppy presence.
Taste: Slightly sweet with grassy presence, bread, honeyed cereals, mild peppery notes, mild skunky notes and mild bitterness.
Palate: Light body. Medium carbonation. Clean and crisp. Rather dry finish. Mild grassy aftertaste.
Overall: Extremely easy drinkable... the glass was empty way too quickly. Clean and crisp with a nice focus on the pils malt. It’s kind of chewy as well because of the honeyed notes. Really tasty stuff.

Really nice pilsner, but not the greatest out there. Has a nice look to is and is easy to drink, I just didn’t find it that special.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is definitely better than most eurolagers or even "pilseners." Light yellow pale body with lasting pillowy white head and nice lacing. Grainy aroma. Taste is richly malty with a slight hoppy balance. Even though it’s not very flavourful, it tastes rich and full, not thin and watery like other macro lagers.

4.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
C’est une de mes pils favorites. Elle a une robe claire, une mousse légčre. Elle a comme toute bonne pils, un équilibre entre le malt et le houblon. Le mieux est de la boire sur une terasse. Ce n’est que du bonheur.

4.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Pint bottle with date code of 7164 which means (unless I am mistaken, PLEASE let me be mistaken) this beer was bottled sometime in April 2014.
That’s right. Triangle Wine of Morrisville, N.C. sold me a beer that’s almost nine months old at full price. Well this happens with imports but hopefully not generally to this extent.
Into a Sam Smith Nonic!
A: Light brassy gold color with turbulent carbonation producing a prodigious rocky head of tight white. Excellent retention and lacing
S: Grassy hops on the front of the nose, with a wisp of white bread following. Great smell.
T: Much like the nose, the taste hits the tongue with grassy straw hop notes. Finishes with a balance of bready notes of more sourdough than white. Pretty dry. Delicious.
M: These people are the masters of body, carbonation and mouthfeel. Light silky body with relentless but gentle carbonation. The mouthfeel of this is directly on par with champagne. Excellent.
O: The embodiment of elegance in a beer. Simple, expertly executed and a hallmark of the style.
NOTE: If anyone notices that I have misread the date code please let me know and I will immediately retract my comment.
This beer is still excellent regardless of when it was bottled.
