12 oz bottle from New Seasons - I stopped by the store to get some groceries for a Mother’s Day Breakfast. I headed to the beer aisle like I always do just to check it out, and lo and behold, there was a beer tasting of Weihenstephaner beers. I tried the her, the pale lager, and the Pilsner, and ended up taking home a six-pack of Pilsner. Pours a pale yellow with a 3/4" white foamy head that sticks to the glass as you drink it down. Strong hops aromas. Strong flavor and good character. This is an exceptional lager beer.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 JoeAgain (66) - New Jersey, USA - APR 20, 2013
Very nice pale yellow color. Wonderful fluffy, yeasty head that stays through to the end leaving a nice "Belgian lace" in the glass.
Good hoppy, peppery nose with a light, sweet malt scent lingering in the background.
The taste of fresh hops and hints of lightly baked bread malt come together harmoniously in the flavors. A very good beer indeed! My favorite, actually, from this brewery.

I was pretty excited to find a bottle from Weihenstephaner that’s new to me, and it’s even better that this is quite a nice pilsner. It pours pale yellow, a bright hay color. Quite clear. A big white head puffed up immediately and held its shape a good few inches over the top of the glass. Lots of bubbles sticking to the walls of the glass and such. Aroma is a mix of very fresh grain with some bright spicy hops. The hops are a bit milder than I’d like, but their aroma is nice. Pleasant, lightly tart flavor from the lager yeast. Malt is light and sweet. Taste has more of that light, yeasty tartness. Pretty crisp. There’s some more of that quality pilsner malt sweetness, but the beer is fairly dry, particularly in the finish. Hops are spicy, grassy and floral. Mouthfeel is mildly tart and very clean. Weihenstephaner definitely shows off their technical skill with this beer. It just nails the classic pilsner flavors. It’s tasty and extremely easy to drink. There’s no off flavors to be found. This beer is pretty much what I wish macro lagers tasted like.

Barley malt, minty grass nose, rather sweet. Crystal clear golden, medium head, decent lacing. Grassy, beginning to end, no graininess. Not nearly as sweet as feared. Good grassy bitterness, no transitions. Not bad.

3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 APatch (5) - Kansas City, Kansas, USA - MAR 9, 2013 does not count
Basement aromas on the nose were not necessarily the start I was looking for, but the appearance was everything I look for in a pilsner... Golden in color and crystal clear continuous stream of bubbles effervescing from the bottom of my glass. Taste was solid and the palate mediocre. Overall, a fine example of a pils.

Pours yellow with a fluffy white head. Bready aroma with some banana and hops. Nice taste that mirrors the aroma.
