2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Clear, fizzy, golden orange pour. Sweet malts, yeast, rotten fruit, light sourness, cheese, a bit funky, and stale bread. Infection? Not good, but I still drank it.

1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
2011 bottle. Pours an orange amber with a large foamy white head that settles to a thin film. Aroma has subtle cheese rind and faint tart funk along with some fruit like orange peel and white grapes. Taste is tart yeast and malt with funk/rotten fruit like old oranges and squishy white grapes and a lingering bitterness. Palate is fizzy and very drying. This beer goes from intriguing to undrinkable in about 90 seconds! Nasty

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
1/05/2011: Samuel Adams Infinium Ale 2010... Aroma:
Sugary butterscotch. Appearance: Bright golden color; extreme
amounts of visible carbonation; large, fluffy off-white head that
slowly collapses; thick lacing from top to bottom. Flavor: Very
difficult to describe... Light toffee/caramel malt; delicate
butterscotch; slight oak or dry woodiness (maybe cork?); floral and
spicy (almost peppery) notes; soft, warming alcohol in the finish.
Palate: Medium bodied; smooth and not too carbonated; actually, it
feels a bit thick - definitely much different than I expected it to be
(i.e. champagne-like). Overall: Enjoyable, good, memorable, but not
super fantastic; noteworthy offering nonetheless.

This was just an alright beer........I look at the people over here raving about it, and then you see more in tune reviews on another beer site. First off, for what you get....$23.99 is way too much. There was nothing remarkable about the colour (cloudy golden-orange), the aroma (wheat, light fruit, citrusy hops) or the flavour (a sweeter Weihenstephaner). As for the champagney nature of the beverage, thatís not for beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle - very big foamy head, very carbonated of course, hazy dark orange color, strong Belg spice aroma and flavor especially in the beginning but does mellow out a little the more you drink, pretty fuller flavor than I expected, overall very good

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2011 bottle. Lightly hazy orange pour with a 3 finger, creamy, off white head that has great retention and leaves some nice layers of semi-lacing that arenít quite lacing as they slowly meander their way down the inside of the glass as it sits. Aroma is toffee, caramel, loads of figgy dark fruit, some sharp ginger and clove spice, bananas foster, and light spicy hops. Flavor is surprisingly a little tart, vinous and a little sour up front leading to the toffee and caramel maltiness coming through, nice dark fruit, again fig heavy, but raisin seems pretty noticeable as well, green wood, pine shoots, toast, hay, and a little woody vanilla gets stronger as it warms. Medium body with a chewy entry, strong, sharp and blanketing carbonation (much like champagne, but the bubble seems larger), leading to a fairly dry, sharp finish. The carbonation drops off fairly quickly to a pretty pleasant moderate strength, blanketing and somewhat sharp level after a few minutes, but right out of the bottle it is a little oppressive. Pretty good stuff, definitely different, like somebody blended an English Barleywine, Flanders Red, and champagne and aged it in white wine barrels, or something, itís strange.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
My wife bought this for our anniversary. I give her a 10 for effort. Id rather have champagne. Or a beer. But not this for the price. It would have been outstanding at a $4.99 price point.
