COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Over 1000 years of brewery experience together with American innovation, two years of development and the four ingredients malt, hops, water, and yeast resulted in a new dimension of the art of brewing and in an innovative, ground-breaking beer: Infinium. The sparkling beer is complex, unique in taste and produced strictly according to the German purity law. This sparkling beer is dry and strong in taste despite the more the 10 percent by volume alcohol and unsettles preconceived opinion about the limits of the German purity law. The strong, deep golden beer will enter the market in noble, corked, 0.75 liter bottles. The joint venture of Weihenstephan and Samuel Adams unites a new way of thinking about the world of the American extreme.

Bottle shared at Weihenstephaner, Freising - 27/11/11. Served by waiter from a champagne bucket into fluted glass. Hazy golden amber with a bubbly white head. Sweet malts and citrus on the nose. Citrus, honey and yeast in the taste, champagne like feel of lively carbonation. Alcohol is well disguised, sweet dry finish.

2010 bottle. Pours a golden amber color with a white soapy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of vinous fruit, spice, and caramel. Solid lacing with plum, spice, and caramel flavor. Very sweet-not much in terms of hops. Really nice beer!

Draught at the 16th BBF; awww, the chance to try 0,1L for €5! Can’t miss that. Pours golden with incessant carbonation. Champagney nose, incredibly sweet, yeast and fruit. Hops are very faint but there’s a thick, straining sugary-sweet malt presence, very faint citrus with more caramel than pale malt, but the overall impression is "sparkling". Very faint fruitiness with some Bockish notes. Alcohol is very well hidden, definitely wouldn’t have guessed over 9%, and there’s some grace here.

Bottle shared by drabmuh on New Year’s Eve. Thanks Matt! If we must drink champagne, it may as well be a bière de champagne. A: This celebratory ale appears hazy and yellowish orange in color. The beer has plenty of carbonation, and an inch of fluffy, white head that leaves a good amount of lacing behind. S: Malt, spices, Belgian yeast, citrus, alcohol. T: A good tasting beer, with some nice attributes. The citrus component is rather tasty and the Belgian yeast character adds some depth and complexity. On the downside, the beer is just too sweet, and becomes cloying after more than a few ounces. M: Medium/thick in body, with a present sweetness and warming alcohol in the finish. D: An OK beer, but at $20+ per bottle, I don’t see any more Samuel Adams Infinium in my future. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-01-2011

Great packaging. The price was a bit difficult to swallow. The beer was a mixed bag.The uniqueness is much appreciated... The execution, is a bit rough around the edges... The end result is a beer I wouldn’t recommend nor seek out again, especially given the price point...

I picked up a bottle of this on impulse from a big display. I’m a big Sam Adams fan. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a lot of carbonation going on. Not much head. The smell is slightly fruity and dry with some errant coconut. The taste is a little unexpected. What comes to mind is orange cough medicine and furniture polish. After it warms a little it’s still not good. What ever the guys were going for here they missed. Somewhat heavy mouthfeel with heavy carbonation. Very unusual. I suggest passing on this beer.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Clear golden with a small, frothy, white head. Aroma has light wet dog, maltiness, wheat, vinious, oranges. Medium carbonation, creamy and kinda light mouthfeel. Flavour is light nutty, wheat, light vinious, quite sweet, mild green apple. A bit grainy as well. Somewhat boring, but still rather interesting.
