COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Over 1000 years of brewery experience together with American innovation, two years of development and the four ingredients malt, hops, water, and yeast resulted in a new dimension of the art of brewing and in an innovative, ground-breaking beer: Infinium. The sparkling beer is complex, unique in taste and produced strictly according to the German purity law. This sparkling beer is dry and strong in taste despite the more the 10 percent by volume alcohol and unsettles preconceived opinion about the limits of the German purity law. The strong, deep golden beer will enter the market in noble, corked, 0.75 liter bottles. The joint venture of Weihenstephan and Samuel Adams unites a new way of thinking about the world of the American extreme.

For all the effort I had to make to bring this into my bottle shop, I guess I had too high of expectations. Beautiful packaging, but it’s hard to sell people on a $20 bottle of beer. Anywho.... This has very high carbonation, with a nose of green apples and straw. The taste was sweet, reminiscent of honey or carmel. I thought the alcohol was well hidden behind the character of this beer. Certainly fun to try just because.... but I won’t be having another.

Pours light brown, almost transparent, bit of white foam. Aroma is sweetly sticky, some medicinal character to it. Taste is sweet as well, strength does come though with some warm sensation from alcohol. Overall, feels a bit too sweet, body could be more firm. Interesting beer to try though!

In Finnish: Jaettu pullo Kaislassa. Kultainen väri, valkoinen pieni kuplainen vaahto, joka jää lasin pinnalle kauniiksi Belgialaiseksi pitsiksi. Lähinnä trippel tyyliä. Shampanjamainen, poreileva, alkoholi ei maistu lainkaan vaikka vahva. Heinänen, maanläheinen, hedelmäinen.

A hansom bottle opened with a nice sound, a beer is dark yellow, a head is big and blond. Aroma is fruitful, grainy maltyness, some aromatic flowers, also citrusfruits. Taste has grain and malts, overriped fruits, hint of alcohol. Medium bodied, strong carbonation. The big disappointment from the great brewers.

Golden yellow looks, really nice head on top and magnificent lacing. Beautiful beer. Aroma has cream, some malts and Belgian yeast. Taste ha lots of malts, some strange milk or cream, yeast and some sweet fruits. Full taste and medium carbonation. A bit strange beer but I liked the flavours.

Drinking this in the afternoon sun, which gives a gorgeous look. Sophisticated aroma. Taste is mature. Like a fine lady. Gentle, but strong body. Oh, lovely. I’d serve this instead of champagne. Biscuits.

75cl bottle at home. Clear golden with a full white soapy head. Medium to full body with quite some carbonation. Lots of malty sweetness with some bitter tones. Malts, caramel, fruits, biscuit and spices. This was somehow more an imperial pilsner then a Belgian Strong Ale. Altough it was tasty I’ve expected more from this.

750ml corked bottle served in a chalice glass. A: Pours a clear golden yellow color forming a big bubbled and fizzy white head. Medium retention and some soapy lacings left in the glass. S: Sweet nose. Strong notes of sweet pale malts and honey. Fruity notes of pear and peach. Caramel and yest. Flowery and a bit citruses hops. A bit boozy and metallic. Bready yeast notes. T: Follows the nose. Sweet upfront. Strong notes of sweet pale malts, caramel and honey. Fruity notes of pear and peach. Orange zest. Light sweet finish. Light hops bitterness. A bit boozy mouth too. Quite bready for an ale. M: Heavy creamy and molasses body. Strong carbonation. Honey and bread in the aftertaste. O: Medium drinkability. A good beer. Nothing compared with the "regular" Weihenstephaners.

For this highly priced beer specialty, I expected a better product. I’ ve tasted Belgian beers which only cost a fraction of this so- called specialty. A hint of mould, combined with a muddy appearance. Thumbs down on this!

Vielen Dank an Martin. Das Bier ist süßlich-scharf, leicht süßlich, etwas klebrig und recht herb-scharf. Unrund, nicht zu süffig. Irgendwie enttäuschend. Vor allem für den Preis...

A bright orange-brown coloured beer with a frothy white head. A strong winey aroma along with meaty, caramel, bready, plus a zesty fruitiness. Medium-dry mouthfeel. The taste follows on from the aroma, mouth tingling winey and fruity zestiness is then mellowed by a bready, caramel flavour, that is bolstered by a background meatiness. The finish is long and flavourful.
