COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Over 1000 years of brewery experience together with American innovation, two years of development and the four ingredients malt, hops, water, and yeast resulted in a new dimension of the art of brewing and in an innovative, ground-breaking beer: Infinium. The sparkling beer is complex, unique in taste and produced strictly according to the German purity law. This sparkling beer is dry and strong in taste despite the more the 10 percent by volume alcohol and unsettles preconceived opinion about the limits of the German purity law. The strong, deep golden beer will enter the market in noble, corked, 0.75 liter bottles. The joint venture of Weihenstephan and Samuel Adams unites a new way of thinking about the world of the American extreme.

bottle, 10.5%, brewed in Germany @Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, minerals, and yeast, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Clean - but what style is this? Huge thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottled. Clear pale golden, brief head. Sugary nose with some banana. Lighter in body tha nanticipated, spritzy champagne-like mouthfeel. Flavour is mostly sugared overripe banana. It may be Champagne-like, but more like cheap Russian champagne.

Bottle @ J&C, Friday Session Tasting, 2011. Thanks. Pours clear golden with a fluffy white head. Fruit, vanilla, yeast and alcohol. Flavor is likewise with a vaguely metallic note. Smooth and full bodied. Reasonable but I am far from impressed.

fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - JUN 21, 2011
Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt
The cork leaves the bottle with a loud sound, but it’s not gushing; it pours a golden color, bright; the head as expected is initially big, but because of the alcohol the head retention is limited, leaving a thin creamy layer. The aroma is very fruity (peaches, apricots...). The carbonation is very high, therefore the mouthfeel is smooth; the body is bold, but not fat; sweet beer, some malt flavor, and apricot jam; low bitterness; too soft for being a real Belgian. The alcohol perception is high.
Interesting, but expensive for its value.
