Suitable sweet malty flavour with notes of cocoa and hops. Dry ending. Rather foamy mouthfeel. Easy drinking. Not among the best German dunkels (24.06.2007).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Looked dark (but I had to drink it from the bottle!).
Very malty aroma, sweet and nutty or woody. Dark bready malt in the taste, fairly sweet, but dried with a brown woodiness, and some nuttiness rather than a bitterness.
A few drops in the water smells lovely when splashed on the sauna stones!

A dark brown coloured beer with orange-red flashes in the light, and a thickm off-white head. A thick and heady malt nose, with a slightly sour fruit aroma. A bitter taste, predominantly malt flavours, with a zesty, hoppy, citrus fruit flavour that matches the maltiness. The finish is dry and malty. (On tap - Plantage, Friesing, Germany).
