2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
0,50 bottle purchased at the Beerville shop in Belgrade-Serbia. Ciao Vlada! Pours a reddish brown, clear with a medium-big ivory foamy head which stays long. Nose: initially very metallic (!), then it goes toasted bread, mocha and a bit of caramel. Meh! Mouth: far too watery for a dark one, an overall bitter (herbal) feel, dry closure, some toasted malts. Not that refreshing, neither complex although not the worst dunkel.

Very easy drinking for the style. Nicely balanced and a nice malty finish. Could be a good beer to introduce new drinkers to that style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. 26.08.15. Pours a bright, deep amber colour with a creamy, frothy beige head which lasted well and left some nice lacing. Gentle aroma of brown sugar, nuts and roasted malt. Comes across as quite nutty on tasting, medium sweetness. Bitterness develops in the dry finish. Light bodied; thin, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Went down very easily but didn’t grab my attention. 7.

Flavor is mild roasted but strong flavored caramel malt, some dry fruit, toast, quite sweet and not much bitterness. Fine balanced body and pleasant, sweet aftertaste. Nice one.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
My Bottom Line:
Long Munich maltiness is endowed with toasted accents in this beautifully aromatic and drinkable Dunkel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam laces atop the dark brown shine.
-Mouthfeel is lean and bubbly, yet all malt flavors are given plenty of room to take over the palate.
-Hops offer but a mild bitterness, never taking room away from the malt showcase.
-The flavor profile is as polished as all other Weihenstephaner brews.
On tap at their restaurant in Freising.

I've looked for a favorite beer and feel I have finally found it. Grate taste and a decent price for an import.
