COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name tells the story: our dark beer is brewed according to a tradition handed down from generation to generation. An aromatic beer with a malty character. An archetypal Bavarian beer.

Half liter @ Weihenstephaner. This one is an amazing dunkel. It is sweet and malty, but not too much, the hops save it and it turns into an easy-drinker.

Amber, rusty color. Very large bubbles in white head. Smells like an amber as well. Watery taste, weak, light body.

Tap at Weihenstephaner am Hackescher Markt in Berlin. Rich mahogany color with a nice frothy head. Aroma is subtle with caramel, walnut, and sweet bread tones. Flavor progresses from that sweet bread to a date and candied chestnut nuttiness, finishing with notes of plum and fig. Great massaging carbonation, medium body. Excellent German beer.

erickok (3533) - Tours (and Paris), FRANCE - JUN 20, 2011
Dark brown and small off white head; like a coke. Aroma is quite mild, with brown bread, tomato, cheese, malts. More a focus on drinkability but still enough flavour to satisfy. Pleasant balanced and underwhelming taste. Not a great amount of character yet a fine brew. Great quality for the price, too. (50cl bottle, 1,75 EUR)

Gutes Bier! Bottle. Clear copper with little head. Initially not a lot of aroma, but increased as temperature increased - rich and malty. Medium body with lightly fluffy mouthfeel. Flavour has a light refreshing start that develops into a richer maltiness with dark chocolate notes and a long finish of coffee and some hop bitterness. Overall a nice dark beer - easy to drink but with a lot going on tastewise.

Martinus (2817) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - APR 27, 2011
Very dark red body, soft carbonation, pillowy light brown head. Aroma of roasted and burnt malts, caramel, burnt pancakes. Hints of popcorn. Sweet malt flavour, burnt malts, rather watery texture. Very little hops. Dry finish. (draught -guest tap- @ café Samson, Nijmegen)
