Fantomas23 (462), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA Feb 25, 2007 Sucked down a litre of this at the Weihenstephan Biergarten in Freising. Second half of a day trip that started at Kloster Andechs. After the walk from the train station through the town and then up the hill to the campus Biergarten, this was more than welcome. Deep red color, almost brown, with a tan head. I’ve got to admit that I was not delicate with this beer. No swirling, no wafting. I chugged. And it was good. Smooth, chocolatey, some roastiness. Wiping off my chin with my shirt cuff....Ahhhhh.....

I should learn to read first (;-) I bought it as wheat beer so I am bit confused now. Not bad dark lager but it is not my favorite style. borisz (131), Netherlands Jul 5, 2008 50CL bottle, Dark brown color, The head is big but it is fast gone. Fruity aroma, nice beer. austone (440), Turku; Pori, Finland Jun 28, 2008 Dark copper with fizzy, off-white head. Rye bready nose, roasted malts, little coffee and cocoa. Flavor is rusty malts, sweetish rye bread, little hop bitterness. Medium bodied, average carbonation. An OK dunkel, not that exciting. ChristianScheffel (2200), Odense, Denmark Jun 20, 2008 Nice copper brown colour with a disappearing off-white head. Strong malty grain and bread aroma, with maybe just a hint of German hops. Intense and clean malty flavour medium dry and filled with toasted munich character.
