duff (5469), East London, Greater London, England Jun 29, 2009 Draught@Julians, Providence, RI. Not a huge fan of weizenbocks at the moment, this is a pale one too. Estery banana, and alcohol notes. Raw alcohol, and some touches of caramel. nate2g (814), Brisbane, Australia Jun 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma of wheat, banana, citrus and yeast spiciness. The flavour is banana bread, citrus and spice. Superbly balanced, it’s medium bodied and good carbonation. A refreshing, enjoyable bock. Gr0ve (1298), Oslo, Norway Jun 27, 2009 500 ml bottle. Whitish golden. Strong haze. Medium-sized white head. Spicy aroma with cloves and a little banana. Rich malty aroma with some caramel. High carbonation level. Hints of smoke. Very nice weissbier flavours, but there is a lot more body and a lot more flavour. Very rich. One must love wheat to like this beer, but I find it nicely balanced and flavourful. It leans towards being a little too sweet though. Could perhaps used a little more hops to make it less cloying. Overall a really nice weizenbock. holdenn (1361), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 23, 2009 Pint bottle from Sams. Pours a hazed orange yellow with a huge off white head. Strong yeast/lemon/wheat/banana aromas that are sweet with a slight earthiness in the background. Creamy body and highly carbonated. More of the banana yeast wheat flavors with somewhat dirty earthy and spicy finish. Decent weizenbock.. Indutiomarus (11), Kuwait Jun 16, 2009 Great head, aroma and appearance. Perhaps a touch sweet, but great body and mouth feel. A very light Weizenbock, but it is excellent.
Magicdave6 (4708), London, Greater London, England Jun 12, 2009 Bottle at tasting at work. Alround rating: The wheat is quite big and in your face, sweeter honey alcohol character(what i expect from a mead, pepperyness in the finish. Big for the sake of being big it seems, the hefe is the superiour. beerlady (411), lucerne, Switzerland Jun 8, 2009 a yellow-golden hazy beer with a slightly offwhite head
smooth carbonation
smells yeasty, spicy and fruity, som alcohol ( seems a little bit harsh at the beginning)
tasts yeasty, spicy, and like fruitpunch
aftertaste is spicy, fruity, bittersweet and warming alcohol ( pperhaps a little bit harsh) Bigsilky (282), Charleston, USA Jun 1, 2009 Updated: Jun 20, 2009Spicy nose, cloves, baking spices, banana bread. Almost ripe peach enters with the malt balanced by wheat tang. A hefe on growth hormones. Not that it feels manipulated in a nefarious way. The "bock," part here means a loss of body and turbidity that adds a very Champagne like structure and roundness. Tasty. Drinkable. 89
