elihapa (1033), Honolulu, California, USA Apr 9, 2009 Bottle from Table & Vine in MA. Pours dark gold with a huge white head. Aroma is strong of banana, clove, wheat, peach and yeast. Palate is crisp, with a medium-long finish. Flavors are a really nice blend of fruit, wheat and Belgian yeast. Great flavor characteristics washed down easily with pearly effervescence. Great beer! puboflyons (589), New Hampshire, USA Apr 8, 2009 From a 1 pt. 0.9 fl oz. bottle no. 5198. It pours a cloudy pale yellow with foam, foam, and more foam. It overflows the glass. The aroma is clearly of yeast, wheat, and spices. The mouthfeel is pretty decent and chewy. The taste is bold , hoppy, and very true to the bock recipe of 1040 AD I suppose. I thought it was excellent for its style. SSSteve (2045), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 5, 2009 a cloudy gold appearance under a large frothy white head. banana aroma of a hefe. flavor is also very much like a regular hefe with banana and vanilla notes but with a thicker malt. thick palate as well and creamy. overall, not really all that different from the regular hefe. beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Apr 4, 2009 16.9 oz Bottle-Cloudy golden color w/a moderate white head-looks more like a Hefe than a Weizen Bock. Sweet, spiced aroma. Flavors of bread dough & spice, some banana, had a slight malt backbone/finish. Tasted like they took their Hefe & threw some malt into it, not like it was malt brewed. Wasn’t dark enough or malty enough to be a true Weizen Bock, made it a little muddled for me. This wasn’t terrible, I’d call it solid & drinkable, but not really true to style. I’d much rather drink their Hefe, that was a much cleaner, crisper brew. If you want a true Weizen Bock, look elsewhere. rustychiles (997), Mesa, Arizona, USA Mar 14, 2009 Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a fluffy white fizzy head. Aroma is bread, banana, wheat, spices. Flavor is dough, banana, wheat, spices, yeast, a little fruity. Nice and balanced and very tasty weizenbock. Good stuff. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Mar 11, 2009 Thanks to Todd for the spare schwill ;) Hazy gold pour, fluffy white head and some lace. Sweet bread and banana on the nose. Wheat upfront with a tropical fruit and slight clovy finish RSRIZZO (1344), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Mar 10, 2009 Color is a yellow gold with a faint haze and very good carbonation producing a nice white head. Aroma is a little sweet with a hint of banana. Taste is creamy and sweet. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth with a creamy feel in the end. Finish is sweet with flavors of honey and banana, then a mild yeast flavor and a touch of bitterness. After taste is a smooth lingering of the honey and yeast. Overall this is a very good brew, well rounded and full of flavor downender (2528), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Mar 9, 2009 500ml bottle. Hazy gold with a big, tight white head. Aroma of yeast, bubble gum and tropical fruits. Grainy mouth feel, with pineapple, cloves, lemon and a decent dry finish. Very good.
