Our light-coloured, spicy single-bock, “Vitus” is saturated with fine yeast and a creamy foam. It is a specialty with a round character based on the extra long storage time. The fruity smell of dried apricots joins aromas of citrus, cloves and hints of banana. Full-bodied and sparkling with an effervescent mouthfeel. Thus, the Vitus does not taste like a typical Bock beer but more like a noble, fruity wheat beer. Perfect with red meat, strong cheese and also able to guide desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Pours an unclear and yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is malt, fruit, wheat and yeast. The flavor follows the nose with additional sweetness and banana. The palate is sweetness. Overall a boring and very sweet beer.

An easy-drinking sweet hefe. Orange colored with big white head, aroma of yeasts and dog’s breath. Flavor is less yeasty and more grainy, standard flavors present. Different from Aventinus.

This beer didn’t do it for me. To me it just tasted a bit marginal.. Normal. Not very unique in it’s style.

(bottled) I was expecting something like Aventinus , this is way differing and like standard a Hef on booze steroids(i dig their Hef a lot) but this isnt as flavoursome . Rich bananary and sticky palate. Cloying , in a plesant way.

Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt
Mudy orange-golden color; generous head, compact. The aroma is nice, fruity (banana). The body is lean, it is quite highly carbonated, the mouthfeel is very smooth; good malt and wheat flavor, with a moderate residual sweetness, and good balance of spices and fruitiness; the bitterness is quite low. Very harmonious.

Poured from a 1 pint bottle. Hazy golden yellow with lots of carbonation. Thin white bubbly head. Thick lacing. Aroma is very strong of orange peel and spices. Makes my mouth water just sitting there.. ok taste; is all spice. Very tingly on the tongue. Leaves the mouth dry. Reminds me of the old orange-julios. Not bad, but not what I expected. The bottle and label was brown.. automatically assumed it was a dark beer. I would buy again.

Cloudy dark yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty, banana, yeasty, citrus and cloves. Flavor is quite sweet and light acidic. Dry and light acidic finish. Feels like a strong wit. 270511

Hazy straw yellow with a beautiful dense two-finger bright white head. Diversity of aromas including clove and other spices, banana, pear, grass/wheat, apple. Variety of flavors as well, with a fruitiness that leaned toward tart granny smiths and bread crust and nuts maltiness. Medium body, tons of carbonation, slightly creamy mouthfeel, and a pleasant tartness in the finish.

500 mL bottle. Pours a very lightly hazed bright golden with a white head. Clove aroma, banana, with a little grassiness, bubble gum, and wheat. Wheat leads the flavor with bubble gum, cloves, apple, and banana. Again some slight hints of grassiness, now with citrus. Pretty nice.

Bottle purchased at Total Wine, Gilbert, AZ. Pours a butterscotch-yellow, with a massive white head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is banana, CLOVE, bread/yeast and malt. Taste is sweet, banana, clove, coriander and yeast. Finish is sweet and refreshing. This is as good as wheat beer gets. True brewing art. For it’s style, one of the best beers in the world.
