A light-coloured, spicy single-bock wheat beer, for both beer lovers and the beer connoisseur. Extra long and cold storage in our monastery cellars makes this single-bock a really special beer with full body and a distinctively great mouthfeel. Prost!

Bottle courtesy of Fratto. Foggy golden orange color with a white head. Big banana sweet aroma. Belgian yeast and fruity. Taste holds the banana flavors as well. Pretty sweet. Finishes sweet fruit with the slight tingle of alcohol.

Bottle (in NZ). Paler than I expected - a hazy pale orange - but with a big pure white head. Yeasty banana, citrus and hints of raw wheat on the nose. The carbonation and slight mineral characters cut through the palate perfectly. The sweetness is a temptress rather than overbearing, and the wheat adds just enough dryness. Refreshing would be the best descriptor of this.

At the Weihenstephaner at the Hackesher Markt, Berlin. Poured an opaque apricot body with a medium sized thick white head. Gluey banana nose, very very nice. Sweet taste, mostly banana, light, lactic traces, chalky, superb balance and mouthfeel. Light hop, slightly acidic, near the end. Just lovely.

I normally think of weizen bocks as being darker in color but this is the same hazy straw yellow of most hefeweizens. Likewise it pours w/ a huge head that leaves behind big bands of lacing. Bananas up front in the nose w/ a bit of a tart tang and some floral notes. Medium bodied, slick on the tongue but also slightly sticky and sweet. Just loads of bananas in the flavor and a twinge of alcohol but very easily drinkable despite this. This is a nice weizen for sure but I think the regular hefe is a better brew.

Bottle, 8C. Nearly opaque orange with white 2 inch quivering dome of a head that is back inside the glass pretty quickly. Highish bead. Nose of lemon, cloves, bread dough. Quite sweet with balancing citric tartness. Full almost chewy palate with quite a lot of orange, banana and spice. I find the lack of darker malts confusing - why drink this instead of their hefe weissbier? Is the extra alcohol supporting anything?

Pours hazy goldenrod with a pillowy but diminishing head. Aroma is sweetened lemon and yeast. Taste is citrus fruit with hints of banana, vanilla, bubblegum and residual yeast. Full bodied with a very wet mouth-feel. finishes light but the citrus remains taking on more of a lemon peel character. Very nice summer beer

Hazy yellow, white head. Aroma mostly of overripe banana. Flavor adds liquorice-like notes. Feels quite balanced, but not just my favorite style.

Bottled at home. Golden colored, big lasting head, lots of carbonation. Nose of malts and wheat. Sweet malty flavor, not enough bitterness to compensate. Not really special.
