17thfloor (1403), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 3, 2008 Updated: Mar 4, 2008Pours light straw/orange yellow with a large foamy white head. Aroma of bacon, sweet malted wheat, clove, and citrus. Sweet and sour wheat, soft banana, slightly metallic. Fluffy mouthful with soft but sparkling carbonation. A nice drinking light weizen bock. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Mar 1, 2008 500ml bottle. Murky gold with some orange highlights, big beige head. Lots of wheat and banana, a touch of citrus. Very wll carbonated. Banana leads the flavor, some light caramel and grass. Damn fine drinker. ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 28, 2008 Draught at Järnet Bar, Stockholm. Pours out in an almost opaque dark yellow colour with a rich sticky white foam. Surprisingly fresh citric aroma with dense undertones of cloves, banana and vanilla. medium to full-bodied with strong spicy and dryish notes of cloves and all-spice with sweet undertones of banana and Seville oranges. Long spicy and rather dry finish of oranges, green bananas and cloves. Not my typical dark and hearty weizenbock, more like an Imperial Weizen. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA Feb 27, 2008 Smells go colves, bananas, and bubblegum. Gloden in color and hazy with a big foamy head. Taste stays with you for a while. Some alcohol is appearant.
JohnnyJ (1283), Carlsbad, California, USA Feb 27, 2008 Pours a very hazy straw yellow with nice sticky white head. Banana, spice, light fruit, lemon vest, clove, and sweet bread. Definitely a wheat, pretty good mouth feel. Very enjoyable brew from a good brewery. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA Feb 26, 2008 I don’t think I’ve ever had a weizen bock before, wasn’t sure what to expect. Its light yellow and cloudy, thick head. Got a banans and clove thing going on, basically tastes like a big heffe. Has a slightly sour, dry finish. Heffes aren’t really my thing, but I can drink it and appreciate it. Really very little hint of alcohol, I wouldn’t have guessed this was a big beer. Appearance: Sunny side , bright amber-orange brew , medium creamy top. Nose : Slightly sour , some citric wheat with rich fruit aromas sparkled with vodka . Good , solid nose.7+ Flavor/Palate : Clean , smooth yeast accented . Fruity malts followed. Full bodied with plenty of wheat malt character. Finish still full and big. 14+
Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 24, 2008 Pour is bright golden yellow with a slight haze and a smallish tight bubbled soapy bright white head...smell is very light and fruity with lots of sweetness and tons of bubblegum...some floral notes and definitely light yeast and banana...so far, very uncharacteristic for a weizen bock...the mouth feel is slight with moderate carbonation and very thin...light citric sweetness and some smooth grassy flavors...very unimpressive thus far...finish is lightly tart and somehow dry...the interesting thing is that it does taste far from alcoholic, which is the only interesting thing...
