Commercial Description:
A light-coloured, spicy single-bock wheat beer, for both beer lovers and the beer connoisseur. Extra long and cold storage in our monastery cellars makes this single-bock a really special beer with full body and a distinctively great mouthfeel. Prost!

500ml bottle, pours a pretty cloudy bright yellow gold with a white foamy head that hung around and left creamy lacing on the glass, aroma of aged bananas, wheat and intertwined with a sweet smoke fragrance (phenols?) on the nose, faint vanilla with sweet light fruits such as faint pineapple fragrances, flavors of malt sweetness with citrus wheat bread, slight banana sweetness fades quickly to citrus tart fruit flavor, finishes with a citrus bitterness that leaves a lemony flavor on the tongue, has a creamy mouth feel, carbonation is medium or a touch more, a lighter version of a weizenbock compared to others I have had but still very good to drink.

Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread, cookie), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of banana, lemon meringue pie, light note of clove. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Needs more acidity or bitterness to balance the sweetness, but then again this is a Weizenbock...it’s gonna be on the sweet side. Obviously the yeast is hard to beat, and this is one of the rare cases where stirring in the conditioning yeast *does* help (a tiny bit more bitterness to temper the malt). I prefer Plank’s version, but this is still very tasty.

Hazy with the colour of peach flesh and a foamy, white head. Dried heather and a gentle smoke lure the nose in, leading to a crisp fruitiness of apricots and white grapes. Layered over that, spicy cloves and lemon zest. Sappy, sprightly malts provide a solid base for the rest of the aroma. Approaching room temperature a tangy, almost sour, citrus note pops up. The flavour closely mimics the aroma with a bit more sweetness. Smoke and heather come through, deliciously. Tangy and citric-spicy towards the finish with a long sourdough aftertaste. Chunky body, creamy, with lively, refreshing carbonation. Slight tannic bitterness builds. Simple, but cool; interesting yeast profile. 50cl bottle, bbe 07.04.09.

Dark yellow/heazy colour, compact creamy head. The flavor is in full balance. Sweet and smood with, babana, nuts, raisin some light bitterness. Becomes smoother and maltier as it warms. Better weizenbock.

Bottled (BB 12/2008)
Hazy yellow color, huge cloudy white head. Banana, coriander, lemon and bubblegum in the nose, crispier aroma than in normal weizen. Fizzy carbonation, foamy palate. Banana, orange, coriander, bubblegum and candy flavors. Alcohol is evident in the finish, then some lemon and hops. Aftertaste has toasted banana. Very warming. Demanding beer.

Bottled. Hazy orange body, small white head. Taste alcohol and almonds. Aroma of alcohol and something which is hard to recognize. Yeast maybe? Fuit? Mediocre finish. Quite a disappointment actually.

Pint bottle poured into my trusty stein- poured a little murky golden yellow, enormus white head slowly whisped away to a half finger thick, light carbonation. Aroma of mangos, cloves, coriander, and a note of yeast. Hits the mouth with a medium body, can taste alot of banana intertwined with the malt, finish is solid. Very easily drinkable, wouldn’t mind a few of these for a session.

500ml bottle. Shared by Tranquillity - thanks.
Pale cloudy orange, brief large head. Wheat beer aroma - coriander and orange zest, some banana. Smooth carbonation. Covers the alcohol very well. Good malty body, well balanced. All the usual hefeweizen tastes. All-round solid brew.
