mmmbeer (737), Austin, Texas, USA Feb 13, 2008 Pint bottle poured into my trusty stein- poured a little murky golden yellow, enormus white head slowly whisped away to a half finger thick, light carbonation. Aroma of mangos, cloves, coriander, and a note of yeast. Hits the mouth with a medium body, can taste alot of banana intertwined with the malt, finish is solid. Very easily drinkable, wouldn’t mind a few of these for a session. FatPhil (3444), Espoo, Finland Feb 10, 2008 500ml bottle. Shared by Tranquillity - thanks.
Pale cloudy orange, brief large head. Wheat beer aroma - coriander and orange zest, some banana. Smooth carbonation. Covers the alcohol very well. Good malty body, well balanced. All the usual hefeweizen tastes. All-round solid brew. williamcoggin (11), Tucson, Arizona, USA Feb 8, 2008 Great head, aroma and appearance. Perhaps a touch sweet, but great body and mouth feel. A very light Weizenbock, but it is excellent. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Feb 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours a thin but interesting and lively yellow with a huge head of ivory. Notes of clove, bubblegum, and pear are in the nose. Flavor is a sweet and floral rush of clove and banana, with a tingly trickle all the way down the tongue. VERY refreshing and light, and VERY enjoyable. GREAT weizen; definite repeat. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Feb 5, 2008 This is the lightest Weizenbock I’ve seen. Looks like a hefeweizen. Smells like a hefe, big on the bubblegum with noticible spicy hops. Very nice yeasty, wheaty, banana and bubblegum flavor. Huge body with a nice effervecence. Really an exceptional ale and a new take on the style. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Feb 1, 2008 Updated: Jan 24, 2009Another bottle that was gracefully shared by Crosling. Poured a semi-hazy, bright yellow color with a fluffy white head. Aroma of wheat and some fruity esters (banana and apricot). Initial strong grainy wheat flavor gives way to a strong, fruity banana esters and a decent yeastiness. Easy to drink, and definitely didn’t seem like a 7.7% beer. Not a huge fan of the hefeweizen type beers, but this one wasn’t too bad at all. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Feb 1, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a hazy yellow body with a large white head. Aroma of banana, clove, mustiness, and lemon zest. Flavor of banana, wheat, clove, and bubble gum with a soft mouthfeel. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 1, 2008 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of all foam finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a hazy softly carbonated yellow colored body and a poor lacing. The aroma was hoppy and wheat. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops dough and wheat. A decent one that I would consider buying again. Very easy to drink.
