Cloudy appearance and bright yellowish orange in color, robust white head of frothy, creamy foam that has good retentive powers with a fair amount of curtain-like sticky lace. You could say that this looks like a premium hefeweizen.
A delectable nose of banana, clove and lemons, hints of peppery spice and a backing of white wheat flour malts. The alcohol is quite estery smelling.
Creamy, lush medium feeling body buoyed by the active carbonation, this is very lively in the palate. Barley grains and malted wheat, bananas and lemons, earthy spices and clove, you get hit with a lot of flavors at once. The yeast becomes more nutty towards the end. Mellow hop spiciness that adds to the yeasty and cracker-like finish, a dry and clean finish that leaves you wanting more. The alcohol is noticeable through out the taste, low fruity warmth before turning spicy in the finale.
Well, I loved this weizenbock, the drinkability on this is way too dangerously easy, but then what else would you expect from one of the greatest breweries on the planet. Highly recommended.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Pours cloudy bright golden with a mostly maintained wispy off-white head. Aroma of bubble gum, banana, pepper, and apples. Tastes of pale malt, fruity esters: banana, bubble gum, phenolic spice and honey. Mouthfeel is full bodied, lightly sticky with lush carbonation. I was hoping this would be a dark beer like Aventinus. While I was a bit disappointed, it was still enjoyable. jasonp (1509), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA

Nice mixture of lemon, orange, banana and clove in the nose. Flavor has notes of wheat, lemon, clove, banana, herbal/grassy noble hops, light mint and a non-detracting alcohol presence. Full-bodied, smooth with moderate carbonation. Good stuff. argo0 (6890), Washington DC, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2007 Good looking pour, a cloudy whitened straw body with a tall rocky head. It smells of fresh sliced bananas, clove, and fresh bread dough. Soft and smooth to drink, the bananas, clove, and dough are joined by a light peppering from the alcohol. It finishes on a light fruity note with traces of the alcohol showing though. Quite nice.
