Commercial Description:
A light-coloured, spicy single-bock wheat beer, for both beer lovers and the beer connoisseur. Extra long and cold storage in our monastery cellars makes this single-bock a really special beer with full body and a distinctively great mouthfeel. Prost!

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold color (are all their beers this same color?) with a large and lacy white head. Aroma is wheat, clove, vanilla, and slight coriander. Taste is vanilla, bubblegum, slight lemon and cinnamon/coriander at the end. The beer remains smooth throughout. Surprisingly sweet, but I liked it quite a bit.

Bottle vioa the rip and run. Two inch head settles upon the evenly cludy honey gold elixer. Remaining quarter inch head is renewed steadily by relaxed carbonation until end. No lacing to speak of. Nose of reserved spice. Tounge is washed with gentle pepper, cloves, and then the honeyed malts emerge. Mellow muted medium body. These cats have the unpretentious quality presentation down to a science. Gonna go get me some more of this.

(GERMAN) Pours a hazy orange color with a dissipating white head. Aroma is of funk, lemons, and spices. The taste is sweet like bread with some banana hints. You can taste some alcohol in the finish !!! Not bad at all, if you can get past the smell.

50cl bottle. Pours cloudy orange/tan gold with thick but short-lived white head. Aroma starts with intense banana. Subtle honey, wheat, and clove follow. Flavor is wheaty, sweet, and lightly grainy with firm malty, wheaty backbone and typical fruity and spicy esters and phenols. The flavor is surprisingly low in banana ester compared to the nose. Spicy, soft bitterness at midtongue balances big bready wheat and medium malt sweetness. The finish is somewhat dry thanks to heavy carbonation. Subtle alcohol follows the grainy, wheaty, fruity, balanced finish. The mouthfeel is vigorously carbonated yet creamy and swishy with a medium-full body. Overall, a very straight-forward hefeweizen with extra gravity. I’m more familiar with this style being like a *dunkel*weizen with extra gravity, but this interpretation is still tasty and drinkable.

Nice cloudy pale yellow color, healthy head. Smells of banana and hefeweizen. The flavor is nice, cloves, citrus, lemony, very interesting. I don;t know much about German beers or weizenbocks but this was quite good and I’d like another bottle to investigate further. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-12-2009 01:52:42

Pours a very slightly hazed medium yellow with a tall fluffy white head that has great retention. Aroma is strong banana, yeast, vanilla pudding, lemon, wheat and sweet malts. Flavor is creamy banana laffy taffy, wrapped in a vanilla laffy taffy but not half as sweet as either, a hint of wheat, lemon-lime soda, some fruity esters, spicy yeast, a hint of bitterness on the finish but not much. The palate is creamy smooth while still being slightly acidic. A fairly well put together brew, maybe a bit much on the banana notes for me but it was still refreshing, interesting and sweet.

Strange label. Orange colour with a decent head. Fruity esters on the nose and lots of alcohol. A little metallic in the end.

Poured from the bottle with a cloudy hazy darkish golden with a substantial head. Aroma is not overpowering with some fruits, taste is bananaish with some sweetness and caramel, not as overpowering as some weizbocks. Incredibly and dangerously drinkable.
