3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at the Euston Tap. Pours cloudy orange with a strong, white head. Big wheat aroma with bubblegum, yeast, clove, citrus and banana. Flavor is quite sweet and full, with more bready yeast, mild spices and alcohol, followed by a very light bitterness. Medium to full in body with heavy carbonation and faint warmth. Finishes sweet, bready and fruity with mild, earthy bitters. Nice beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. Date unknown. Large billowy white head on a cloudy hefeweizen yellow colored body. Nose of heavy clove, sweet creamed banana, faint alcohol, sweet gummi candy sugar, and lemony, zesty sweet hops. Wow, very smooth and creamy, milky almost, on the palate. Very mellow and soothing on the tongue. Flavors of cream and spiced banana yogurt, some light smoked banana and smoked corn. Some rich and creamy wheat, lemon grass and sweet citrus, ending with a long, drawn-out tingle of alcohol. Great stuff.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2012 My Bottom Line:
This pale Weizenbock harbors a most complex fusion of sweet bananas, spicy phenols and citrusy wheat in a nourishing and drinkable body. This brewery is as solid as they get.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy straw yellow.
-Effervescence is smooth and lively, increasing drinkability.
-The flavor profile is diverse yet balanced.
-The full mouthfeel is marvelous because it remains quaffable and its residual sugars are beautifully lifted by cuddly carbonation.
-Complex and elegant, this Weizenbock showcases this prolific yeast’s (and brewer’s) many talents.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: The pour is a hazy golden color with a tint of orange and a creamy white head.
S: A very nice citrus aroma and perhaps a bit of pineapple. Sweet wheat and malt aromas and the great German yeast gives off some bananas, cloves, and apples.
T: The flavor is quite similar to the aroma. Good sweetness and yeast contributions and plenty of fruit (banana, apple, and oranges). There is a light bitterness to this one as well.
M: Medium body with a smooth and creamy carbonation. Quite pleasant, indeed.
D: I think I still like their regular Hefeweizen a bit better, but this is still a great beer. I might have to pick up a few more bottles.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Poured slightly hazy paler golden with a short, creamy cap of white head. The aroms was just delightful.. toasted banana and spicy pepper on a warm impression upfront.. sweeter aged caramel malts holding it up behind.. balance was excellent! The flavor had warm caramel and banana notes at the core surrounded by black pepper, coriander, and tart citrusy notes.. warm again on the finish and entirely satisfying. Heavier-bodied with creamy carbonation on the palate.. alcohol was present, but well-balanced.. I’d gladly have another.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Strong aroma of banana and toffee. Very strong aroma. Thin white head w/ decent lacing. Taste is similar to the aroma, though a little less fruity and with a bit of citrus far in the background. Nice beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2012 2012-11-15. Hazy dark pastel yellow, good sized off-white head. 3+ Aroma is wheaty, lightly yeasty, grassy touches, muted floral and chalk/gypsum notes. Flavour is pleasant, sweetish wheaty core, moderate estery yeast character, mild fruit, mild bitterness. Light grassy accents and light alcohol in the background is fairly restrained for the abv. Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate suits it. Pleasant, dangerously drinkable while chilled, the alcohol comes out slightly more as it warms up. Pretty nice. 7/4/7/3/15 Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto
2008-06-11. Pastel hazy yellow with a small white head. (3+) Alcohol over esters and yeast in the aroma. Flavour is similar with alcohol touched estery pale malt. (7+) Smooth average plus palate. (3+) Okay, but I was hoping for more ’weiss’ character to it. 7/3/7/3/15 Bottle shared by GregClow
