A light-coloured, spicy single-bock wheat beer, for both beer lovers and the beer connoisseur. Extra long and cold storage in our monastery cellars makes this single-bock a really special beer with full body and a distinctively great mouthfeel. Prost!

Bottle. A- Spices, wheat, banana. A- Golden color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Spices, wheat, yeast, banana. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, yeasty finish. O- This is often called the world’s best wheat beer. I would have to disagree. Not that it’s bad but I don’t think it quite deserves that title.

Great beer. From bottle hazy orange pour. Small head. Aroma of cloves and bananas. Spicy taste like a Weiss beer on steroids initially sweet and spicy with a nice acidic finish. Full mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Hides the alcohol very well.

Half litre bottle poured into an oversized Tripel Karmeliet tulip. A: Colour was orangy golden, hazy. I expected a huge head to form, bit that wasn’t the case, there was only a moderate amount of foam on top, not much lacing clung to the glass. S: Yeast, clove, banana and esters. T: Mainly followed the nose, but also added some orange and milky notes. The really impressive aspect was how well the booze was concealed. M: Minimal carbonation, slightly thick texture, smooth. O: Understated but classy, not much more to add.

Important message: Yes, this is a Bock Beer, but if you expect the traditionnal Bock beer taste, you might be disapointed. This beer is based on the traditionnal Weihenstephan Weizenbier, and this alone makes it quite unique. It’s so different from what you think to know of Bock beers, and it’s soooo good! Danm, this beer HAD to be elected world’s best strong weizenbier!

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Pale amber-gold with a thin head. Has a fine wheat aroma and taste, perhaps a little more so in the former than latter as the flavour does not linger too long. There’s a touch of spice here but does not make the beer too indistinct from its style.
